This 1250 sq foot home is located in the highly desirable area of Lower Highland, LoHi, in Denver. It is just blocks from a pedestrian bridge that connects LoHi and Downtown Denver as well as I-25, I-70 and Speer Blvd. It is also within walking distance to Union Station which has been redeveloped into the Denver metro area transportation hub which included the A Train to Denver International Airport, DIA.
The home, which features original nearly floor to ceiling windows, is one of the oldest in the LoHi neighborhood dating back to at least 1887. Over the past twenty years the home has been renovated and updated so it includes all the modern conveniences.
Refinished hardwood floors throughout the house, 9ft ceilings, and original painted woodwork give the house a warm cozy farmhouse feel.
The well appointed kitchen includes all stainless appliances, eat-in space and original wainscoting and built-in corner cabinetry make this the location where everyone gathers. For larger groups or special occasions there is a large dining room which has accommodated as many as twenty diners for holidays.
The two bedrooms have just been renovated to the studs with new electrical wiring, cathedral ceilings including ceiling fans. Both bedrooms have new beds include one that is adjustable/massage bed. Although the house was built before closets were a must, dressers, shelves and hanging racks in both bedroom provide more than ample clothes storage even if staying a month or longer. There is also a large closet between second bedroom and bathroom, with two eight foot long clothes rods and lots of shelves as well as antique shoe rack, that I created when the bathroom was renovated recently.
If needed, the couch is available for an additional option for sleeping as well as a queen sized air mattress. Upon request, additional linens and pillows will be provided.
Heated tile floors in the newly renovated clean, white bathroom as well as the separate bathtub and large tiled shower make it easy to get ready for your day or freshening up after exploring Denver. New bathroom fixtures are coordinated with original features.
One of my favorite features of the house is the front porch with the inviting cushioned chairs and porch swing are great for hanging out and catching up with friends. The property also has a large flagstone patio with dining table & umbrella, gas grill and new hot tub for soaking.
The home includes a large laundry room with newer washer and dryer, mud room and one large closet. Even with the renovations that have occurred as much as possible we have left original details and character to give the house a warm cozy feel.
Although in the neighborhood, parking can be a challenge this property includes two + parking spaces in the rear, off the alley, Lyle Ct. Near the parking area there are trash, recycle and composting bins for your convenience.
Although I love animals I don't allow pets in the house. Additionally, smoking (whatever you choose to smoke) can be enjoyed on the patio.
