Our room was huge and included more amenities than what is usual at hotels. A microwave is few and far between. We did have to wait at the front desk for 15 minutes (no line) for someone to arrive and check us in (there was a sign that they would be back soon). TV is huge with lots of channels/options. Very spacious and updated, calming decorating

The breakfast can use some upgrades, better variety of food items with some healty options. I disappointed Hampton Inn menu. They could do better. Bathroom faucet leaked, fixture was hard to control.

Pretty straight to the point hotel with a pool/hot tub and decent breakfast. Free parking. Right next to a Walmart and practically every main restaurant chain. Fairly easy to get around town from this hotel. Next to a lot of other hotel chains too.

Our bathroom had a terrible sulfur smell, a giant yellow stain on the wall, peeling wallpaper and water marks on the ceiling. I contacted the property manager twice and got no response.

Unattended desk and rude check-in agent
The check-in person was rude, unhelpful and the worst I have experienced. My wife talked to another guest who was having troubles with his room key and needed assistance from the front desk that also complained about this individual. I travel through Des Moines a few times a year and have used this Hotel in the past. Never again.
