Great spot for a family weekend

Reflections of a Stately Home

The key aspects for comfort including furnishings and layout were in place just as described. The description of 'newly remodeled' and 'newly built deck' may not align fully with the description of 'prestigious living' in that there are some features that are weathered and worn. Communication with the owner was very timely and the maintenance man was quick to respond to several calls we made for necessities we came upon (access to the additional bedroom, a minor plumbing issue, and supplies for the kitchen). The convenience of this location is exceptional for access to riverfront and downtown events.

Thank you, Andrew. The deck is just 3 years old. Effectively next year, due to Michigan weather, we will sand and stain, vanish and weather proof the deck each year going forward. Didn't realize that we have to do this every year

Publié le 1 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe place was not as described it was so horrible my guest and myself had to pay for a hotel and then the owner stopped responding when asking for our refund. The house had flies and gnats and smelled old as well as looked old.

We later found out from a neighbor that the true reason Ms. Sharday Tolliver did not stay at the property was due to the enforceable tight security. After they arrived and started fishing information, they found out that it was an upscale property located in the Detroit Mayor's neighborhood with plenty of private and police security coupled with our onsite security camera system. She and her friends got frightened and left. They concurred a plan to get their monies back. That's why they made this false allegations tanshing the property. activities. These false allegations doesn't align with the comments of any of the other guests who have stayed at the property.

Nice Property - No A/C
Publié le 3 août 2023 sur HomeAwayThis property was a nice property, with a beautiful outdoor sitting area. It accomodated our large group nicely. One problem is that it is not air conditioned. This was a critical concern for us at the end of July! The attic where a large portion of beds were did not have AC, or any working windows. We had fans but it was very hot. The A/C units are in the bedrooms on the 2nd floor and are window units. There is no A/C on the main floor living space. Note that the water on the second floor bath was difficult to regulate the shower temperature.

Erin, the home is in a historic district built over 100 years ago. Based on City ordinance, there are limited changes we can do. In the summer times from late May to end of September, we placed window units air conditioners on every window to keep the place cool.
In the extreme that these window units are not working properly, we replace them upon tenants request.
Again we ware sorry...next time let us know. Our maintenance crew is very responsive. Our goal is to make you and your guests comfortable.
