Nice Dewey Beach Visit in July

Beach vacation
Publié le 31 août 2022 sur HomeAwayMy family and I stayed at Dell Tush’s apartment for a week. It was lovely and steps away from the gorgeous ocean! The best part was that we were able to bring our puppy who turned one on our vacation!

Prime location in Dewey Beach

We chose this property for its proximity to the beach (literally less than a minute walk) and it was dog friendly. The fenced in backyard was huge, but had a lot of stuff scattered around so you'll want to keep a close eye on your dog if you let them off their leash to make sure they don't go snooping in something they shouldn't. There was also a standing water feature, which meant lots of mosquitos - be sure to take bug spray if you want to enjoy the space!
While they weren't an issue for us, the stairs leading in/out of the 2nd floor were a little steep and could be problematic for some (older dogs with hip problems would struggle). The living space was fine, and the kitchen was stocked with most basics you would need if you choose to cook (pots, pans, plates, cutlery, etc.). The two bedrooms are pretty small and there wasn't much space besides the bed and a dresser - wasn't a problem for us though since we spent most of our time outside!
All in all, would consider returning to this property again in the future.

Relaxing apartment close to the beach

Nice seaside retreat
Publié le 18 juill. 2021 sur HomeAwayWe stayed in apartment B with our pups. The unit was up a flight of narrow stairs. Overall, the location was great and has ample parking for guests who may need to purchase day passes. The beach entry point was not overly crowded, which was nice.
Everything was clean inside and the people were very nice- they have an on-site unit. The unit could use some updates as it is becoming worn and outdated. The common area is large and fenced, but cluttered; All that said, would stay again.

Can’t beat the location
Publié le 13 juill. 2021 sur HomeAwayPerfect for 2-4 people but challenging for more as there isn’t a lot of space to move around. Has everything you need to cook and eat in, but is walking distance to restaurants (and everything else) in Dewey. The sofa bed mattress is very thin so we put sheets on the sofa cushions and my daughter slept with it in couch form. Upon leaving after an enjoyable week, I spoke with Larry and pointed out some things that he may want to check out (broken box spring and bad mattress, burned out bulbs,). He was very receptive to the comments which I hope will make it a little more comfortable for future renters. If you rent unit B, know that you must turn off both bedroom window AC units before using a hair dryer or other hair appliance, otherwise the breaker gets tripped and you have to go in the common hall to reset it. If you have problems with stairs, unit B is not for you since you have to walk up a full flight to access it.
The location could not have been much better…just a few houses from the beach!

We are glad that you had an enjoyable week and appreciate your comments. Thank you to alerting us of the problem with the bed. You are the first guest to comment on the mattress and box spring as having a problem. It is only a couple of years old. Unfortunately, light bulbs do burn out, but when we are told we immediately replace them as we did for you.
We do know that sleeper sofas are not as comfortable as regular beds but we did pay for an upgraded mattress when it was purchased in an effort to make it more comfortable. I'm sorry you had that issue. I have ordered a new 5-inch memory foam mattress to hopefully correct that problem.
The bedroom air conditioners were an added amenity and are new this year (there was only the main unit before that) so we were not aware of any problem until you told us. We have called our electrician to see what would cause that and remedy the problem
Our listing does say this is a second-floor apartment so there should be no surprises with the stairs. We are glad you enjoyed our great location and appreciate your comments so we can correct issues when they are brought to our attention. We want our guests to have the best vacation ever.

Perfect Location!

We could easily go to and from the beach in just a few minutes, which was great with small children. It was just enough space for us to spend a much needed week away. Thank you!
