My stay in February

The hotel had good chances to be great.
Rooms are spacious and nominally well equipped.
Area is clean and beach is good.
The main buffet style restaurant is good.
But of three rooms we had booked in all three air-conditioning was misbehaving.
Rooms have decent sound insulation. But even with that the volume level the lift announcements produce is to high. There's no sense in keep it so loud.
My parents tried to sleep with the balcony door open. But the noise of some engine that was running early every morning for some 20 minutes, forced them to close the door. And attempt to use air conditioning again.
In our room during all our stay there was a sewage odor in the bathroom.
Inconsistent water supply in shower.
We got several times replacement towels, that had sour stench. Bed linens weren't changed in a course of two weeks stay.

Services not good. This is a 5 star hotel but the services and the personal is not at that level. We tried all the restaurants and only the asian one was good but service very slow. Many beverages from the menu were not available in the all Hotel. For the breakfast I wanted a decaf cappuccino but they didn't have decaf available in the entire Hotel.We stayed in the villa but the water from the tub was coming brown. Beautiful view but not more than that.

The hotel is less than a year old and in great condition. It is well maintained and staff are everywhere. The room I had was mountain facing. It was large and very comfortable. The Elemis amenities provided good quality. There are a number of dining options across the hotel and a nice indoor/outdoor roof terrace with great day time views. The hotel staff are eager to solicit positive online feedback - a little too eager, but understandable as they want a digital footprint asap. They have a carved out section of the Al Aqah beach which is kept tidy with nice views of Snoopy Island. The on-site dive center, Aquanauts.ae, is excellent and was the reason I initially stayed at this hotel. If you’re into diving or water sports in general, they will look after you very well. I would definitely stay at Royal M Al Aqah Beach Resort again.
