Excellent place to stay, rooms are absolutely perfect and spotless. Host is as good as all the reviews state. I will definitely return.

Had a really lovely warm welcome and throughout the stay from Gina and Gareth, the bed we stayed in was quite literally the comfiest ever and Gina was even so kind as to tell us where she got it so we could copy! Beautiful location, surrounded by woodland and easy to get into Dolgellau. The hotel itself is really peaceful and calming which is only made even better by the lovely hosts. Thank you both! Tom

We had a lovely two night stay. We booked only 48hrs before our visit so we had the last available room, which had a wonderful garden view and although it was smaller than we anticipated the fun of watching dozens of garden birds on the many bird feeders outside our door and also seeing tiny shrews playing and jumping in the late evening was wonderful. Breakfast was pre booked and excellent and our hosts happy to help at all times. We would definitely return.

3 night stay cut short

We were given room 3, the rose room, for our 3 night stay at c£120 a night. The bathroom wasn’t in the room so we had to leave our room and go round the corner to a bathroom which was used as a shared bathroom even though all other guests had their own bathroom. We spoke with the owners who just said it happens. I wouldn’t say they do room service, there is a number you can text but no menu, no wine allowed upstairs and they stop serving at 10pm. Myself and my other half aren’t big fans of B&B’s but the availability in the area was scarce and this one had lovely reviews. The nearest town is a 10 minute taxi drive, otherwise there is nothing within walking distance. On day 3 there was a leak which meant we couldn’t shower, guests were continuing to use our bathroom and make a mess of it then we were asked to clean it ourselves. We had to checkout 1 day early unfortunately due to my other half having to get back to his work last minute. We were charged full price despite the disruptions to the showers and bathrooms. The rooms were quite small given the cost, we were only given 2 tea bags (English breakfast) despite staying 3 nights which meant we ran out after our first evening and felt uncomfortable to ask as at times it did feel like we were bothering the owners. All in all I won’t be returning nor will I be staying at a B&B again. That said, Gina was lovely and the food was good.

Sorry for the late response but we have only seen this review today. We are so saddened to read this review and are very confused about it. You were both so friendly and complementary during your stay and upon check out. We would like to thank you for giving us 8 out of 10 and appreciate you not giving us a lower score given your concerns which I will address below.  The room you stayed in is the room you booked, the Classic Double Rose room has a private bathroom which we state as clearly as we can on Hotels.com/Expedia. We also sent a confirmation email which confirmed this once the booking came through. As the bathroom is not en-suite I make sure our guests are aware of the arrangement upon booking. This gives bookers the chance to cancel or change the room booked prior to their stay dates.  The Classic Double Rose room has a private bathroom which is lockable and the guests have the only key to open/lock it. If someone told us another guest had used the bathroom we would apologise profusely, check if everything was ok and ask them to lock the door to prevent this from happening again so I can't see why we would have said something different to yourselves. B&Bs are traditionally just bed and breakfast within a family's home. Afon Rhaiadr also provides afternoon tea and dinner service on selected days by request. We do not provide room service; as a hotel would. We have asked our guests not to drink red wine or eat take-aways in their rooms (due to potential damage to the property) but we are very happy for our guests to enjoy their drinks or take-aways in the dining room. Guests can also utilize the many seating areas in the grounds and the Lounge as per the guest information provided. Pre-covid rooms were serviced each day. As there is a continued risk of Covid, and the potential risk of closure if we contract the virus, this is no longer possible. Each room has an assorted supply of drinks (around 18 hot drink options) and milk. On arrival and in the B&B information pack we clarify that a top up will be provided on receipt of a text or at breakfast. We are sorry this didn't work for you both.  We stop serving alcohol at around 9pm as per the guest information provided. We check if our guests have everything they need before retiring for the evening. Guests are at liberty to make use of the facilities till they retire themselves. The water in the B&B was disrupted for about 30 /40 mins on Sunday morning and we apologised profusely for the inconvenience. Everyone in the B&B told us not to worry, including yourselves. The water situation was resolved quickly. You cancelled on the day which was your choice. Our T&C’s are clear about the cost penalty for leaving early which is standard in the industry. We are so sorry you feel like you would not come back to any B&B. It feels like you were expecting Hotel services even though you booked a B&B. We do offer much more than an average B&B but we are not a Hotel.  We thought you were both lovely and
