The beautiful A-frame cabin is ideally located on over 3 acres along a private gated road in the heart of the Pennsylvania Elk Range. It borders State Forest land meaning your stay will be full of recreational opportunities!

This beautiful A-frame cabin includes 2 bedrooms, along with additional sleeping arrangements in the loft and a full-sized sleeper sofa in both the loft and den - each area boasting inviting rustic decor.

Witness elk in their natural habitat at the Winslow Hill Elk Viewing Area, 2 miles from home. This is the most popular viewing site in Pennsylvania and provides you with plenty of trails and dirt roads for exploring and elk-viewing. White-tailed deer, black bear, and foxes also frequent the area.

Stop by the Elk Country Visitors Center to gain helpful tips on how to make the most of your elk-filled adventure. The center is only 3 miles away and is so popular it gets over 400,000 visitors a year. Their qualified and educated conservation staff is ready to teach and instill an appreciation for the natural beauty and wonder found in Pennsylvania’s elk country!

Journey to the "Top of the World," found only 20 miles away. The beautiful overlook is near the Fred Wood Trail which offers 4.57 miles of incredible rock formations and 2 stunning vistas.

Spend the day at Sinnemahoning State Park, 32 miles from 'Elk Terrace Lodge.' During the warmer months, go hiking, picnicking, boating, and fishing. In the winter months, enjoy cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and ice skating!

Weekend Getaway
We stayed here for a quick weekend getaway with family. It was so relaxing and the house was just as described. The fire pit was a huge hit for smores and mountain pies. Will def be coming back!!

Nice, but pricey
The house is nice, but very expensive. This seems due to the location and not many options in the area. It is located well for elk viewing, hiking and taking in the beautiful, local scenery. We were there with 2 other couples for a total of 6 adults. It says it sleeps 13 people, but with only two bathrooms, that seems to be a stretch. The two bedrooms, plus the large loft areas provided enough privacy for 3 couples, but anyone else sleeping there would have been sharing a sleeping area or been in a common area. The day we departed for our trip we were told that the hot tub was not working. It was one of the reasons that we chose the house and we were disappointed. They have offered us a very small refund for the inconvenience. In summary, a nice place, but expensive due to lack of local supply.

Great location was able to hear the elk bugle close by… The cleaning fee seems a little high as there were dirty stinky towels in the washer upon arrival and other items found other the bed from other guests…The damage protection room fee is for what?? Can you use that to replace the missing TV remote that apparently has been addressed by other guests per the note left on the TV… the house is to sleep 13 people but there are not enough silverware for 13 people… Overall great location have some areas of improvement within the home..

Anniversary getaway
We were very happy with our recent stay. It was a 40th anniversary getaway for my parents (my dad’s an outdoor enthusiast who has wanted us to go see the elk for years, so it was the perfect opportunity to kill two birds with one stone). Overall the house was very clean but I did mark it down in that area because I found the fly swatter stored in the silverware drawer. 🤮 After rectifying that situation we were very satisfied with our stay and would recommend a visit for anyone.

Elk Get Away
The cabin itself is beautiful. Upon our arrival, we had trouble getting the gate to open. When putting in the code, it would just blink and beep and not open. There is no cell service in area so couldn’t call anyone. We stopped at gift shop to use their phone, and they told me Chuck at the wine shop could help. Which he did. We had problems each time we left and returned. I was later informed someone had recently hit the gate and it needed repair. At the cabin, I put in the last 4 digits of my phone number to open the door. That also did not work. We were able to connect our phone to WiFi and called Tim. The wrong number was entered for the code. The other problem was the air conditioning upstairs would not work. Directions are also confusing but upon talking to Tim again, we did everything right but it did not work. It was 81 degrees upstairs. The other issue was one day there was no water at all in the cabin. I left a message with Tim. It did come back hours later and Tim follow up. Both Tim and Chuck were very helpful and apologized for our difficulties. There are some maintenance and safety issues that need to be addressed. The floor vent cover in downstairs bedroom was not secure to floor and would slide off. Someone could injure their foot/ankle. The door knobs on closet come off, they not secure. The sink in upstairs bathroom is not secured to floor and moves when touched. It was frustrating having many issues and having to call for them while on a few day vacation. Probably would not book this cabin again.

Elk Co Paradise
This cabin was everything we were looking for in a weekend getaway. This property is very private and so quiet. There were ample linens and towels, the kitchen had all utensils/cookware/appliances needed to prepare meals, the beds were comfy and the location was ideal! The owners provide LOTS of info (brochures, maps, printouts) on the local area and we took full advantage of the fantastic hiking and sightseeing nearby. There's nothing like relaxing in the hot tub and watching the stars while listening to the sounds of nature after a long day of exploring! We are looking forward to returning to Elk Co and can only hope this amazing property is available when we do!!

Thanksgiving in the woods!
Always talked about staying in the woods for Thanksgiving... and this year we did it!! This house is a great rental... attention to detail, great beds, very very clean, and lots of room! Had a wind storm and lost power for 5 hours!! Thank goodness for the fireplace! Everyone got their blanket and we all sat around on the gigantic couch telling stories ... no WiFi so HAD to talk to each other!!!! House phone is great since cell service is not good... Kitchen is great did suggest more silverware for a large group. You will not be disappointed... we were only 45 minutes from home but felt like we were far, far away and enjoyed every minute and you will too!

...and a raccoon, 3 groundhogs, rabbit, 3 deer, bats, squirrels and chipmunks. This location was better than any of the official wildlife viewing areas. Relaxing and beautiful. The kids say to add that the wifi was good, too.
