One of the soap dispensers in the shower had leaked all over the floor. To look at the floor it just looked wet. When I stepped in I slipped on the soap and only saved myself from falling by grabbing the safety rail.

Carpets were so dirty our kids feet were black

I have stayed at the Matilda many times over the years for business and it usually is great however people were roaming around creating lots of noise late at night and I felt unsafe. The restaurant is not open and even the drink machine was non functioning. Sad to see it go down hill as it used to be great.

Thank you for your review.If you have late night noise please ring managers on number on key so we can deal with this at the time. We are unable to action the next day. The restaurant closed due to lack of patronage. It may reopen if economic conditions improve and there is demand for this service. We are city centre so there are lots of food options in walking distance. The drinks machine is no longer working. We do have a machine in reception for use during office hours or we can sell from the bar.

The foul bathroom water smell meant the bathroom door needed to be closed at all times. The mattress needs replacing as you can feel the springs in your back and is very sagged. Don’t tell people you’re upgrading them when you actually downgrade them. Meaning if we book a room with a queen bed & a lounge don’t change them to a queen bed and a single bed, when it’s a couple. Won’t be back unfortunately.

Thanks for your feedback, Lee.As outlined in our terms and conditions, we have a no party policy and a quiet period from 9pm to 7am to ensure a restful environment for all our guests. It seems these guidelines were not followed during your stay from multiple groups attending the MotorFest over the weekend.Additionally, our staff were subjected to verbal and racial, and homophobic abuse from these groups. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any behaviour that involves approaching or rallying others to intimidate our staff. Such actions are completely unacceptable and undermine our commitment to maintaining a respectful and safe environment for guests and staff.

Nothing bad, nothing great. Felt a bit stark for $ paid. Restaurant closed for forseeable future.
