Duck Creek’s best kept secret

What I particularly liked is that it’s very close to the village but completely private so we were able to have our motorcycles and all our gear and really enjoy our weekend with safety and privacy. The cabin is nicely, equipped with plenty of room for friends and family. Would highly recommend!!

Great house in the woods

The property was clean and had a great location with lots of parking for our trailers + RVs (we had previously been camping). We were able to ride our SxS right off the property to access great trails. We often had deer, chipmunks, and marmots surrounding the property. My only complaint was that there wasn't a washer/dryer (not listed) and two of the bedrooms did not have dressers making it difficult to unpack and feel settled.

Mice inside the house

During our stay we had mice running around inside the house on the furniture and on our beds. Mice droppings in the corners. Disgusting. The marmots outside ripped our trash bags open and scattered it everywhere because there are NO TRASH CANS. Door code didn’t work on check in. There was no propane so we had to fill it ourselves. Pull out couch had old linens still on it (with crumbs inside GROSS). For $500/night I would expect more. Host could care less and had the nerve to charge us extra for damages because we didn’t “hand wash the dishes and put the board games back”. Didn’t find out until a week later when they charged my card and I contacted support. Real class act this guy. Take that damage deposit and hire an exterminator you crook.

Thanks for posting this. You are the first person that said anything about mice. Neither myself, my family, the other tenants, or my cleaner have seen evidences of mice. If you would have notified us we would have responded promptly. The check in and check out instructions are very clear. If you have more than one bag of trash you are required to take it to the local trash receptacles. The cabin is in the mountains and there is wildlife in the mountains. You called and requested early check in. The Nest lock had to be programmed to allow you to enter the premises early and I know this was done instantly upon your request.
We reviewed pictures of the premises with the VRBO team showing the condition of the premises when you left. We were all stunned at the mess you left. I did this before I notified you that I had to retain your deposit for the additional cleaning fee incurred as a result of your mess. Also our instructions are clear to please lock the windows and doors when you leave. You didn’t have the courtesy to do this either.
Lastly, there are two propane tanks by the bbq at all times. Perhaps you didn’t turn the tank on per the instructions?
My staff spent a lot of time rearranging schedules so you could have an early checkin and late check out in an effort to accommodate you. We are truly sorry you did not like the place as most folks enjoy being there and comment on how nice and clean it is. We pride ourselves in this endeavor.

Family friendly cabin
Publié le 18 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis cabin was a great place to spend time with families. It was a great location, tucked up in the trees and lots of lava rock where squirrels and I believe, ground hogs hung around where they love to eat our table scraps.
The host was very generous and helpful and easy to get a hold of.
