A basic hotel which is okay

Lack of towels in our room was annoying.. It was late and I didn't want to down in the lift to ask for more..
Basic room looks like a Youth Hostel with no soft touches or fittings... Colour scheme isn't exactly soothing...
The empty first floor is a worrying feature for lone women entering in the evening.. Anyone can enter.. Very unpleasant.. Reception is on the 2nd floor so help is not available..
Women bear this in mind if planning to stay..

Sorry to hear you seemed to have had a unimpressed stay. We have extra towels available on request, available from reception. The hotel is fully covered by CCTV and for entry to the hotel, you require keys only we provide that are on a timer so previous guests cannot enter even if they keep there keys. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay, have a nice day.

A hotel where sleep is impossible due to noise
Publié le 29 avr. 2023 sur HotelsHaving previously stayed here I thought I knew what to expect.. Unfortunately this time the stay was very, very unpleasant..
Firstly I will state that all the staff are friendly and efficient.. The room although very austere and basic is adequate.
The problem was the noise.. On my last visit I stayed on the South West Side of the hotel.. Here I had a quiet stay..
This time oh my God it was certainly not the case. This time I was placed on the North East Side of the building.. All night the noise of 'boy racers' with straight-thru exhaust pipe and vehicle racing until the early hours of the money... Do Dundee Police not monitor the situation? Then early the next morning am industrial picket set up across from the hotel.. Encouraging motorists to klaxon their vehicle horns in solidarity.. So additional noise.. I'm both cases the glazing was hopelessly insufficient in cutting out the noise.
I would say because of the extreme noise and should you wish to get sleep then you must absolutely avoid this hotel...

Good morning Mark, Our windows are triple glazed therefore no noise should be coming in from outdoors. We cannot help the protestors however we here at the hotel were not aware or seen any protestors. Basic hotel, friendly staff and comfortable stay

Room comfortable but the colour schemes are a bit garish.. Some wear to the top cover and wall finishes show a small refresh is needed.. It sort of reminded me of the Holiday Inn Express - which I really detest..
The room was comfortable and the glazing really cut out any street noise.. It was also well insulated from corridor noise..
The bed was comfortable.. Charging points for USB devices was appreciated..
I didn't use the WiFi nor take breakfast so I can't comment on these..
The shower was excellent and the bathroom generally clean and well thought out..
Parking is an issue here and unfortunately you have to park elsewhere at additional cost..
I paid a low price for my stay and the price I paid reflects the type of hotel and room.. I have seen this hotel ask well over £100/night.. At that price it is simply not the best choice.. I would recommend the Dundee Apex if you are looking for more style and finish.. Plus parking (albeit paid) is much easier..

There is no parking at this hotel. You need to park in a public parking lot a few streets down. I wish I knew that before because the GPS got me in the train station parking. I ask travellers who were unloading the luggage by the hotel to know what to do (they had to go in and ask).

Overnight stay

Everything about the hotel was very good quality other than having a small blood stain on the bed sheet.
