Wonderful stay - Wonderful house
Posted Nov. 16, 2024 on HomeAwayThe Animas River House was absolutely perfect for our family gathering in Durango. Every room was well appointed, beds very comfortable, bathrooms spacious, and the Ping-Pong table was definitely appreciated by many in our party. The kitchen was the best with matching plates and utensils for over 15 people! We had group meals, and all chefs with very pleased with the array of cooking gear. Thanks for the great stay!

Wonderful place to stay!
Posted Nov. 7, 2024 on HomeAwayWe really enjoyed our time at Animas river house! We stayed there while visiting our daughter at Fort Lewis for the weekend. The proximity to town and campus was perfect! The house was large enough for the whole family to enjoy themselves! Everything was clean and well kept. We will definitely stay here again while visiting. Thank you for the great stay!

The location is unbeatable – right on the river with beautiful views and peaceful surroundings, plus it’s conveniently close to hiking trails and shopping. The house was spotless, well-equipped, and felt like a home away from home. We loved the reverse osmosis water system throughout the whole house! We especially enjoyed the ping pong table, the large outdoor patio, and relaxing by the fire pit in the evenings. Our hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful. We can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend this gem for a perfect getaway.

Posted Oct. 14, 2024 on HomeAwayThe home was meticulous. It had everything we expected. It was clean, well stocked, comfortable and the perfect place to end our 2 week vacation in Colorado. The host was exceptional. We definitely would stay here again. We can’t recommend it enough.

The perfect getaway
Posted Oct. 1, 2024 on HomeAwayThe property was absolutely beautiful! The house was spacious for our guests and was a perfect setup to house our wedding party. The house and property were clean and felt just like home. The hosts were so kind and worked with us great. The only unexpected was how close the host's house was and that there was construction but it didn't bother us.

Wonderful Stay on the River
Posted Aug. 17, 2024 on HomeAwayMy family of 5 and my brother in law’s family of 4 joined up to stay at this house and we had the best time. The house was just as described, plenty of space for our crew and a very equipped kitchen with tons of spices, pantry items etc to make cooking easy. The fans were a big help and even in August we were never hot in the house. We loved the wraparound porch and ping pong table. Our kids played in the river and loved visiting the llamas and sheep! Highly recommend this house!

Early August in Durango
Posted Aug. 15, 2024 on HomeAwayNice place, totally met our needs. Didn't realize property was so close to the road, and road noise was "a thing." River was nice, paths could have been more manicured to allow for walking the property. Also was notified after we booked that owners are on property and construction is taking place as well, no interference, just should be stated up front. Fishing here was fun for casting, but not so much for catching as river was very murky on account of all the rain. No complaints really, close to downtown, and very nice overall.

Kent. So happy you had a wonderful vacation and our house met all your needs. I’m also pleased to know that our construction project did not interfere with your enjoyment. We are always trying to improve our 22 acre site for future guests needs as well as our own needs.
The road and the train are about 800 feet from the house, so sorry if it was a bit noisy for you. Every year we continue to enhance noise reducing vegetation, by planting hundreds of native willows and cottonwoods.
