Lovely Lake Property

We had such a wonderful time at this property. It was plenty of space for us and our children, even our pups had a great time! We were able to hike every day and kayak... grill and relax. We would absolutely come back!

Very relaxing, quiet

This property was an excellent choice for our family of 5 + dogs. We had great views and was located minutes from Eagle River. The cabin could use some medium bowls for mixing and the two non-stick skillets were badly worn. They need to be replaced. Otherwise, a nice stove and large refrigerator made it easy for preparing meals and keeping things cold. Everyone had a great time but on our coldest night, we couldn't figure out how to work the gas fireplace. All we got was a very low flame. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time with lots of room for all of us.

Quiet and Comfortable

The cabin was clean and comfortable. We stayed in the king bedroom which had a good sized walk-in closet. We really appreciated the extra blankets and throw blankets that were available. We did little cooking in the kitchen, but the gas grill was great. The screen porch was wonderful. That's where we ate out meals. While the kitchen was well-stocked, it should be noted that there are no condiments or spices available (as per Health Department rules, apparently). Three things that keep me from giving a 5-star rating: 9:00 am feels like an early check-out for us, especially when all dishes must be clean and put away. (That means the dishes in the cabinet are likely handwashed when guests arrive.) We chose to skip breakfast in the cabin and eat on the way out of town. Also, the drapes in the bedroom were not wide enough to cover the entire window. Finally, the only outlet in the hall bathroom is behind the mirror. Overall it was a great place to stay and we would stay there again.

Spices- Yes unfortunately we are not allowed to have them, per the health department! We will put that in the listing- Thank you for that suggestion! 9am Check Out- We always are very flexible , in our guidebook we do mention to ask for a later check out / early check in! We can almost always push check out time later. 9am is mainly in the summer time so our cleaning staff have enough time to thoroughly clean each cabin! We apologize as we would have been able to allow a later check out for your stay! Sink outlet: Oops! It sure can be hard to miss. There is one located near the hand towel rack also! Great Family Vacation

This was our second year staying for 1 week and it was an absolute blast! The cabin has all the accommodations you need and is very clean!

Beautiful cabin on Meta Lake

We had a lovely New Year’s weekend at this place. The cabin was beautiful…..clean, kitchen was well equipped, nice big bathrooms, plenty of space for our group. I like that there’s a beach and you can walk right out to the water’s edge. I can’t wait to stay here in the summer. The host was quick with a response to my questions. All in all wonderful.

Walleye Cottage Stay

This was my second stay at the Walleye Cottage on Meta Lake. Nice updated classic Northwoods cottage with all the modern amenities to make a stay comfortable and hassle-free. Property is clean and well-maintained. The property managers are easy to contact in case guests have any questions or concerns. The location is wonderful on Meta Lake. It's a private lake, so nice and peaceful with not much boat traffic. The cottage has it's own private dock with a 14 foot jon boat included. Meta Lake is also sandwiched between Catfish and Cranberry Lakes with easy public access to the Eagle River Chain of Lakes. West-facing cottage so very nice sunsets over Meta Lake. It's wonderful waking up to the sound of loons on the lake. I'm looking forward to my next stay at the Walleye Cottage.

Very Accurate Ad & SPOTLESS

My large family and I have been burned many times showing up to properties that the listing shows what we think is accurate, turns out to be nothing like the listing. Here at Walleye Cottage, it is exactly how you see it, the property manager was always just a call or text away, checked in with us throughout our stay. Kitchen was beyond well stocked, beds were comfortable, the entire house was CLEAN, the grounds were kept up, you can just tell a lot of work and caring goes into this resort. You have all your own spaces, beach is shallow great for kids, but deep enough to dock your boat! All in all was great, we already have our spot reserved next fall!
