Fully furnished and equipped 650 square foot apartment with Queen size bed and sleeper sofa (also Queen size); accommodates 4 adults. Full kitchen with stove, all utensils and dishes, refrigerator and microwave. Beautiful, Tiled bathroom with unique lighting. Flat screen (50 inch) smart TV with cable and Netflix, robust wi-fi. Private entrance, 1 flight of stairs down.

Overall I am pleased with my stay. The location was very close to the airport and convenient to Charlottesville and the Shenandoah National Forest. Space was ample for one person or a couple. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and necessities. Lots of clean towels and linens. It is a basement apartment so it is damp and musty which is to be expected in a basement. The footsteps overhead are quite loud but otherwise it is a quiet location. Stairs outside are a little steep and it is not wheelchair accessible.

John & Maria's "pond house" basement apartment was just what I needed for a couple of days' quiet work, including a one-day conference just down the road at the University. I would definitely stay here again.

Great little spot!
Great accomodations for 2 people with the spacious open concept floor plan. Will definitely book again as the price and location were great for us. As per other reviews, we heard footsteps a couple of times, but nothing that annoyed us. In fact, we let out a cheer watching the hockey game which they definitely heard, and realizing how loud we were, went into quiet mode the rest of the stay. Super friendly hosts.

Weekend relaxation didn't happen
We might have been better prepared for our trip had we known the apartment is below the owners. We left at 2am for a hotel because my husband couldn't sleep. He tried for a few hours but the night was spent listening to whoever was crossing the floor upstairs. This was every few mins. We tried for a while until my husband had had enough. This was supposed to be a weekend away for him to relax and not worry about anything. The last thing we expecting was to drive for 2 1/2 hours after working all day and then, be up all night. It would have been a huge plus to know that this rental was someone's basement. They should've put a picture of the steep steps you go down in order to get to the basement. I wasted money on a spot we never would've rented had we known. And then had to double the money spent on another location. Definitely did not turn out the way we had planned. We also didn't meet the owners. A guy came outside when we pulled in to tell us where to park and where to go. There was no other communication after that, even after we left and didn't go back.

Nice stay
A lot of thought went into the design of this basement rental. The accommodations were very nice. The place was slightly musty, but we arrived a day after the area had had torrential rainfall. Wonderful attention to detail, with books and dvds for you to enjoy. A shout out to the owners as they want to be sure you have a great stay. Thanks!

Perfect spot for our Charlottesville visit!
The Pond House was immaculately clean, charming, and well stocked for our family’s needs. Comfortable bed and pillows with nice linens. The sleeper sofa worked well for our 11 and 13 year old to share. We had plenty of room for enjoying meals and resting after full days of sightseeing. The full sized kitchen has everything you will need for cooking. (Mini fridge only, however) . Mr. and Mrs. Salidis have given attention to every detail and it shows. We felt 100% comfortable here. Our children said it was their favorite VRBO yet, and we’ve stayed at many.

Excellent Value
This is a basement apartment. The kitchen had a mini fridge with a freezer big enough to hold ice trays. No dishwasher, but otherwise a fully equipped kitchen that had pots, dishes and coffee provided. There was a large TV on an articulated arm for easy viewing from nearly any spot and Netflix was included. The bathroom was large and had some cool LED lighting. It's located in a nice neighborhood and convenient to shopping with a 5 minute drive.
