Just What We Needed
Publié le 13 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayCommunication with Tammy was great from before we booked the lake house until we checked out - very timely, friendly and professional. The house was clean, plenty of room, included everything we needed and had beautiful view. Best of all, we were able to bring our pets! We would love to come back in the summer and take advantage of warmer weather and all the goodies she has for the lake. Thanks for helping us find a great place to stay!

Loved being on the lake
Publié le 18 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayEnjoyed a like front property and taking walks in the neighborhood. Kids were excited to see all the wonders of nature - birds, ducks, geese, deer, baby bunny, and frogs. Enjoyed our stay. Owners were very responsive to all of our questions.

Host did not inform us that there is no dock.
Publié le 27 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayOur children planned for weeks to get up early to catch the biggest fish while sitting on the dock pictured all over VRBO but there was NO DOCK! The host apologized and told us she already put a request for a dock back in March and “they” did not do it yet. She further explained that the post clearly stated “available in the summer” like it was our fault. It was Memorial Day weekend! I asked if in this situation we could use her neighbor's dock and we were informed that “definitely NOT” and if we would trespass neighbor’s property they would call the police. Since the only thing we planned for this trip was fishing we rented a pontoon boat in town but we ended up paying almost $900 as all the cheaper options were already rented out. The bedding in our room was clean but the kids complained that the upstairs room was dark and hot and there were a lot of spiders. The house did not have deep cleaning for a while. The carpet on stairs had a lot of stains. The kitchen cabinets shelves were sticky and they were filled with old, dirty, mismatched junk. The baking sheets were rusty and the Teflon pans were scratched so cooking was not enjoyable either. Ceiling fan had grease and dust visibly stocked to it. The deck and deck furniture was nice but there is no gazebo or any roof over it so we could not use it as it was raining the next day. We ended up leaving 1 day early as nobody wanted to stay there. Thanks for ruining our vacation.

I’m sorry that you and your family did not have a fantastic stay. I do try to make each stay a good memory. I know you were upset with me even before your arrival because the Town of Albion has a requirement that I need to have a copy of your ID and you did not want to share it (which is noted on my listing). If I do not get this, then I am risking my short-term rental housing license.
When you booked three weeks before your stay, I had sent a message thru VRBO about needing the id, the dock may not be in, and other information about the house. Two weeks later I resent my message. It was not until the day before your arrival, when I sent a message that I would need the ID before I could send the door code, that you finally respond to my messages, so I’m not sure how much of what I had sent was read.
I will not be addressing the other topics here, nor the mess that you left for me. I feel that is a lot of venting that is counter productive for both of us, and I will let the home’s ratings speak for itself.

Cozy, pet friendly home with amazing views
Publié le 9 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayThis is a great house in a quiet neighborhood. The views of the lake were amazing! The pictures don't do it justice.
We were very pleasantly surprised by how spacious the great room was and how much seating was available. Likewise the deck was a pleasant surprise with both comfy cushioned furniture as well as firmer chairs. Something for everyone and just a great place to hang out with lovely breezes from the lake.
I contacted the host once for something I could not find and she responded immediately with the location as well as an offer to send a replacement if she was wrong! Turned out to be a user error on my part (oops) but I sure appreciated the fast response and offer.
We'll stay here again for sure!

Relaxing stay!

Perfect Little Getaway

We booked with one of her rentals and had to change our dates last minute and since the rental we booked was occupied already she was nice enough to fully refund us and let us rebook at her other rental that was available for the dates we needed. The house was super cute, very clean and had everything you could need for a getaway. We enjoyed paddle boating and having a bonfire at night time. I texted Tammy a couple times and got a response pretty much right away. I would 100% stay at her rental again and recommend it to anyone.

The deck and view are 5 stars
Publié le 28 août 2023 sur HomeAwayI know every host is looking for 5 stars but sometimes there are things that need to be addressed to receive 5 stars.
We stay at a fair amount of short term rentals and this was actually the third one of this trip.
Some feedback to get to 5 stars:
* Most 5 star short term rentals have no maintenance issues. This rental had gaps in the flooring that causes it to shift underfoot. I almost dropped my infant when this happened. The front door shock mechanism was loose/broken and feel apart at the time of initial entry. There were shelves in the kitchen that needed repair. Shower curtain in master bath did not fit shower space.
** 5 star rentals have coffee and other essentials at least for a day. I don't need to have coffee supplied for my entire trip but have some to get us started on morning one. This includes dish soap, and basic shower bodywash & shampoo.
*** If a renter tells you something is missing or there is an issue you should believe them and not question it. Trust me, no renter wants to reach out to the host with issues. We just want to enjoy our stay.
****You should consider putting that identification verification is required in the posting. Doing it right before check in seems like racial profiling or discrimination.
*****Having 20 pages of unorganized rules and information is not desirable. We have stayed at $1000/night rentals with 1 page of rules.
****** 5 star rentals have white sheets, white towels with quality pillows.

Future renters, when reading this guest's review, please note that he said they were at 3 rentals just during this trip. I believe he's confused a few of the properties. You can see pictures online showing that I don't even have shelving in the kitchen and there are no gaps in the flooring.
If you're familiar with Wisconsin health standards, they do not allow hosts to supply anything opened (such as coffee grounds). There is also no requirement that the sheets have to be white instead of trendy colors.
Also, my VRBO description of the property is clear about requiring a photo id. This is a requirement of the Town of Albion and many other townships in the area. Also, if Douglas looked back at the message history, his id was first requested at the time of his booking.
There are 10 pillows on the beds, and 9 more in the large bedroom's closet. They vary by firmness and height so that you can find the pillows that suit you. I've had a lot of people compliment our thorough informational document which is arranged with information about each room, as well as a section about activities available in the area, but not everyone wants to review the document which is their prerogative.
