Great beach nearby

Disappointing
Posted Sep. 15, 2024 on HomeAwayLocation is superb but this chalet has run down, especially the cheap interior.
I appreciate the chalet is pet friendly and the interior doesn’t have to be designer material but this chalet needs a serious upgrade. Sorry, wouldn’t recommend it.

We are disappointed that you are disappointed. Obviously we can't please everyone but as anyone can see from our reviews, the majority of people have had a positive opinion of our property.
The photos on the website give an accurate representation of what our chalet is like and we have a high proportion of returning customers.
However we do have plans over the winter months to carry out some upgrades.

A Wee Gem
Posted Sep. 9, 2024 on HomeAwayGreat property in a fabulous location. The property is very comfortable and has everything that you might need and more for a complete holiday. Alice gave us loads of information beforehand about the property and the surrounding area.
Situated on the John Muir coastal path which was ideal for walking the pooch and great for people watching the surfers from the surf school next door. A superb beach on your doorstep and plenty of other sandy beaches and walks nearby. Dunbar is within 30 mins walk along the coastal path with spectacular views and loads of wildlife to be seen.
Do yourself a favour and give it a try.

Great location on the beach
Posted Sep. 2, 2024 on HomeAwayThe chalet is in a great spot opposite the beach. There is a lovely pub (Brig and Barrell) less than 10 mins walk away, and its only a 5 min drive into Dunbar itself.
Its in a good location for seeing the area. To get to Edinburgh, one of the locals recommended driving to Wallyford (where there are lots of EV chargers) and then its a very quick hop on the train. This worked really well for us as it gave us more choice of train times and also made it cheaper.
if you are looking for activities, i highly recommend Foxlake Activity centre, which is less than 2 miles away.
The chalet is really well equipped, with towels, toilet rolls, cleaning products etc as well as all the things youll need for the beach (windbreak, bucket and spade).
We didnt quite get the weather or waves we were hoping for but all in all a nice break away

we prefer the word homely. Most of our guests are dog owners and it would not be practical to spend a lot of money on upgrading when a large percentage of our customer base own dogs.

Clean, cosy and homely
Posted Jun. 16, 2024 on HomeAwayThe chalet was as described and was clean, cosy and felt homely, beautiful views over the bay and a few minutes walk from the beach.
Beds were comfortable and I slept the best I have in months, that could be due to the long walks with the dogs.
I would definitely recommend this chalet for a peaceful stay, and will certainly return.

Best Place Ever

(Full disclaimer: My golf buddy and I were treated to a week of brilliant Scottish weather. That probably changed the title from "One of the best places ever" to "Best Place Ever")
The chalet is clean, comfortable and simple. It's perfect.
Location is fantastic.
It's on a beautiful beach that is comfortably busy with surfers and families.
The Cliff Trail offers a spectacular 30 min walk into the friendly town of Dunbar. (It always took us longer than that because we would dawdle to marvel at the scenery and chat with other walkers.)
Winterfield GC is the most scenic $30 USD golf course imaginable.
Dunbar GC is an old, classic Scottish links course. (The only course we chose to play twice.)
The nearby Brig and Barrel pub offered delicious food and lively conversation. We were treated like family.
And thanks to Alice for not only keeping the place in perfect, organized order, but for also being patient with me. I got confused about payments (long stupid story). My final payment was embarrassingly late.
