My sister and I stayed here for 2 nights in early November. Elizabeth and Jose, the owners, are fabulous, very welcoming, excellent English, Spanish, Japanese (maybe more). They organised taxis to and from the airport for us as well as our glacier excursion.
The rooms are basic, but comfortable and clean with a good shower. There is no tv in the room, but there is one downstairs. We didn't find it a problem as we were out to dinner each night. The breakfast is great, Elizabeth's pancakes are so fluffy :)
It is about a 10min walk to the main street of El Calafate, but we felt safe walking around even at night. There are a couple of very nice restaurants on the way to the main street.
We would definitely stay here again when visiting El Calafate
