Posted Oct. 22, 2024 on HomeAwayIt was quiet and secluded. The gardens were amazing. Our accommodations were perfect for us. We did see some birds including a peacock and a toucan but were probably more interested in the plants than the birds. The pool was great. There are a great selection of restaurants and a well stocked grocery store in El Valle as well as lots of things to do even in rainy weather.

Decent location
Posted Dec. 14, 2023 on HomeAwayAn older property near the edge of town. Host was very approachable, good information as he has lived in the area for years. Beds are comfortablebut several pillows were set aside as they were very used or showed signs of mold, (the owner bought some new ones after he was made aware), kitchen is stalked decently(we had our own spices) we had to wash cutlery and dishes that we were going to use as the drawers held too much debris to allow use without washing first. No AC but that wasn't an issue for us. There are fans in the rooms. We walked to town a few times(easy walk in 20 minutes) , lots of Orchids and other plants on the property. Pool was clean. One can expect to see peacocks on the property or building roofs at some time. Charles keeps gates onto the property locked at night(a common thing in El Valle), renters do have a gate key. I think dog barking at night anywhere in El Valle is common.

These were lovely Canadians who probably had never traveled in the worst month of rainy season in Panama where humidity is a major concern. I can understand their concern with humidity, as are we. This is definitely not an older home. This is probably one of the newer homes on the rental market. It probably has no more than 5 years in the system, built in 2016-2017. They mention having their own spices, but had they looked in the spice cabinet above the stove they would have found most every spice available, as we cater to international guests. Yes, two pillows were musty, and I appreciate they called it to my attention, and I replaced them immediately. I wish they had shown me the issue they had with the cuttery and dishes, because I personally supervise and inspect the thorough cleaning, we give the unit immediately when guest departs. Not to mention or show the problem to the host about the cuttery and dishes before they cleaned them, when the host is present on the property, gives me cause to question why they mention this. Other than that they were cheerful but did not clean up well after themselves as my European and local guests do when they leave.

Spring in El Valle
Posted Apr. 12, 2023 on HomeAwayLovely home. Welcoming owner and gardeners. Beautiful gardens and pool area. Located near El Rey grocery stores, farmers market, several restaurants.

These guests stayed for 29 days. It was difficult to say goodbye. Could not ask for better people. I will judge all my future guests by the standard they set. I hope someday we have the good fortune to cross paths again. Exceptional guests.

Loved our stay!
Posted Mar. 11, 2022 on HomeAwayThe host and his family received us so warmly! Communication was quick via WhatsApp and the host arranged a two days of birding for us with the best guide in El Valle. The home was just as presented, clean and comfortable, no AC needed. The gardens are beautiful! I spent lovely afternoons just lounging at the house.
