This is a great place for two couples, or a family. Clean, comfortable, and beautiful view of the mountains from the screened in porch.

A hit, with a serious caveat

After we booked it, the owner rung in another charge for a pet. and wouldn't respond about it. We liked the house, but we had, as one of our requirements a fireplace--the fireplace was sealed, and there was a gas stove in its place--not the same. Also, we got there in pitch darkness. About 2 in the morning the power went out. We called 91, hoping they would at least call the utility, but the wouldn.t We called the emergency number and got two clicks: an answer and an immediate hangup. We enjoyed the rest of the stay, but if you book it, just know your communications are over. Liked Ellijay and the local cider places and taverns were great.

Location and other stuff

Hi. The place was ok but not very convenient to anything such as food or stores. Shower door broke in one bedroom and light/fan did not work in one bedroom.

The homeowner would like to share the following: -"We would like to provide some additional information regarding the concerns raised by the guest. -We do include a map on our listing so that guests can see the approximate location of the home before booking, but we also encourage guests to research the area before booking to ensure it is the right fit for their needs. We will review the description and explore ways to make the location details even more prominent, so future guests are fully informed before making their booking decisions. -Regarding the shower, it appears that during the guest's stay, they accidentally caused the shower door to come off the track. We promptly responded to their concern when they contacted our 24-hour contact. The Guest Contact promptly visited the site and successfully reinstalled the shower door for them. At no point during their communication with the Guest Contact was the issue of the fan mentioned. Additionally, our cleaning team reported that the fans appeared to be in working order when they inspected the cabin after the guest's departure. We appreciate the guest bringing these matters to our attention, and we are committed to addressing any concerns to ensure a positive experience for all our guests"

Though the stay I was pretty disappointed. When we arrived, we found the location to be significantly further by an hour to an hour and half than what was listed online. Once we arrived, we found mold in the coffee pot that we had to clean, bottle caps in the downstairs bathroom, and issues with some lighting. Do be warned that it does get significantly hotter in the downstairs bedroom with little ventilation. As listed there is only one TV in the house which is in the downstairs bedroom. So if traveling with guests then be warned. So overall, the cleanliness was poor for the amount we had to pay. I would say how much but apparently I can’t disclose that, we stay for 2 days and the drive to get anywhere was really poor. Overall just upset with it.

We also include a map on the listing so that guests can see the approximate location of the home prior to booking, but we apologize that this caught you off guard. - The number and location of the TVs in the cabin are clearly stated in the listing. We hope to add a second TV in the future, and when we do, the listing will be updated. - We're sorry you felt that the cabin was not clean. Quiet and Relaxing

The cutest cabin with all you need for a quiet getaway was just what this place offers. All I needed was my clothes and food if you wanted to cook there. It was clean and the owners were very helpful. Very easy process and stay❤️

I want to live on that porch swing!

We had a fantastic stay here, for my husband's birthday in July. And the property owner was in contact with us to give us guidance about the area's activities and restaurants, which was SO helpful. We have 2 kids and 2 dogs with us, and the property was enjoyed by ALL of us. And that view...and the porch swing/bed! I spent a lot of time on that, in pure bliss. We also saw a black bear in the woods below the house (while we were safely on the screened in porch). The whole experience was lovely. One note of caution about July: watch out for ticks.

Couldn’t imagine a better place!

Everything was clean, functional, super cute. I’ve been to my share of vrbo type places and none were as welcoming as this. There was coffee, firewood, toiletries. We could’ve left home with the clothes on our backs and been perfectly comfortable. Everyone was so friendly and the area is perfect.

not couples retreat friendly

The cabin was marketed as good for a couples retreat however, we found many issues which did not align with the idea that it was good for couples. In the living room/common use room, there isn’t enough furniture (one chair and a sofa). If four people were in there together, three would be sitting on the sofa looking at the one person in the chair- not good for conversation. There isn’t a TV in the public living area!! We certainly came to Ellijay to take advantage of the outdoors but we did still want to have a TV to watch football. There aren’t any lamps in the living room which makes reading difficult during the day and even more so in the morning or evening. There is an area upstairs that would make a perfect reading room and a chance for couples to have time apart during the weekend but that area is completely bare of furniture. In the bedroom, there needs to be a night table with a lamp on each side of the bed. It is not uncommon for one person to stay up later than the other and individual bedside lamps are needed. There aren’t any dressers in the bedrooms to put clothes in. In the bathrooms, there were only 4 bath towels and 2 hand towels for 4 guests for a long weekend. The bathrooms were minimally stocked with toilet paper. The kitchen was really lacking. There wasn’t a cutting board. There weren’t any dish towels or dish cloths. There weren’t any trash bags. There wasn’t an adequate supply of silverware or dishes. We had to run the dishwasher after every meal so that there would be enough silverware and utensils for the next meal. The silverware and dishes that were there were lacking. There weren’t any soup spoons or tea spoons, the forks were like child size forks and the plates were small. At the firepit, the furniture again did not fit the idea of a couples retreat since there were only 2 chairs. There is a timer on the downstairs bathroom light that is jarring when making trips to the bathroom during the night. And there is an outdoor light that is on an unavailable switch that shines into the downstairs bedroom all night. The window needs blackout curtains to make rest possible there. The 24 hour contact basically told us “sorry” about any issues we contacted him about. We were able to address some of the issues ourselves because we hunted through an upstairs closet and found trash bags; we found unwashed kitchen towels and washed those; we found paper towels and toilet paper in an outside storage un

Hi Kayleen, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following: We have high standards of hospitality for our property to ensure our guests have a memorable stay. - We're sorry to hear that you did not have the five-star experience we endeavor to provide our guests. To ensure transparency, the listing and photos are accurately advertised. The spacing and location of the furniture as well as the number of televisions in the home is exactly as it is pictured. To create a more comfortable experience, it is one of our future goals to include a nice tv/reading area upstairs by adding another couch, chairs, and an additional television - The kitchen is fully stocked with silverware for four people. We are taking the suggestion under advisement, however, and considering adding additional pieces in case any were lost or stolen. We apologize if the cutting board was missing and will purchase a new one - As is standard in the vacation rental industry, the owner provides a starter amount of toiletries and other essentials, and once that amount is out, it's typical for the guest to purchase more supplies - Communication is highly important to us. We encourage guests to reach out to us while they are in residence with any issues so that we can address any concerns quickly for a most comfortable stay.
