Paradise
Posted May 12, 2024 on HomeAwayWe had a great stay at this property! This was our second stay on manasota key, but the first at this rental. Everything was clean and as described. The beach access is a VERY reasonable walk, about 5 minutes from the door to the water. We would absolutely stay here again! We stayed with pets as well and everyone was very comfortable!

Overall, nice!
Posted Apr. 29, 2024 on HomeAwayCozy Cottage is in a great location, with easy access to a private beach area of the Gulf. It's nice to be able to walk to see sunsets, sun rises, Stump Pass Beach Park and to the town beach as well. We also found great restaurants etc in the town of Englewood. The owner is very helpful in terms of being great about responding quickly to questions. It was great to have beach chairs, umbrellas, etc to use, since we had flown to FL. The accommodations suited our needs, as we were more interested in the beach, nature walks, and being outside than in spending a lot of time inside. A couple of inside updates (for example, the sheets, although of course clean, were a bit worn) would make the property a little more welcoming. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at Cozy Cottage.

Nice cottage!

Honestly, it was nicer than the pictures portrayed, and the neighborhood was quiet, safe, and close to the beach, which had private access about 8 doors down. We found lots of small sharks teeth - a first for us! We would recommend!

Cozy cottage
Posted Apr. 7, 2024 on HomeAwayUnfortunately I was disappointed with the cozy cottage. I contacted owner various times regarding lack of cleanliness, cockroaches, filthy grill. Never heard back from owner. Also, furniture is old, dirty ,and smells. Requested partial refund , and of course never heard from her.

Hi Mary and Tom. We do not appreciate false reviews. We do not have bugs and our furniture is nice and always clean. You contacted me one time regarding the grill and nothing else. You are angry because you wanted me to personally come there and clean off the grate of the gas grill at the property, which is shared with the other unit, because you didn't feel you should have to do that. I explained to you that it is a shared grill for all of our guests to use, that the cleaning crew cleans it when there, and that we can't come there after every use to wipe it. In the past, it's never been a problem and everyone understands they may have to clean off the grate before using it. You leaving a horrible false review because you didn't get a refund for this is uncalled for as well as slanderous.

Loved Manasota Key
Posted Jan. 3, 2024 on HomeAwayThe property was very nice and we loved Manasota key. Very cute street. We did a lot of shark tooth hunting and found hundreds of the small ones. A beach cart was provided that made it easy to bring lots of stuff down to the beach. Also, the Stump Pass Park (short walk) was very nice. We brought our two dogs and though they were not allowed on the beach we did bring them a couple of times in the late afternoon (we had seen many other dogs being walked on the beach) and had no problems.
The property owners suggestions for restaurants were very useful as well. Overall we had a wonderful experience.
My only note would be that it would be good to have a little more toilet paper. With myself, my wife and three adult children the one backup in each bathroom is not quite enough.

December Stay

The floors had dust/hair along the trim throughout the house, the bathtub in the hallway had hair in the drain, and the spout was cracked/broken which was a hazard for our young children during bath time. The hallway bathroom’s drain cover was also broken and came out during bath time.
We scrubbed the backyard patio table so we could use it for dinner.
We did appreciate having beach toys, a cooler, and beach towels at our disposal because it was less we had to pack or buy.

Hi Lance. I wish you would have contacted us when you got there, we would have sent our cleaning lady back out if she missed something. We are not seeing that you contacted us during your stay at all. It is our goal that our guests have a comfortable and care-free stay and encourage them to contact us if we can be of help with that. We have since replaced the bath tub faucet. Take care and thank you for your review.

Mom and daughters
Posted Dec. 1, 2023 on HomeAwayVery comfortable. Everything needed was there. It was easy access to the beach. The beds were very comfortable.
Should maybe have throw rugs inside the doors to help catch the sand. We wiped our feet on the outside mats and didn’t wear our shoes in but the sand got in anyway.

Posted Nov. 26, 2023 on HomeAwayThe Cozy Cottage was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Beach access was just a short walk from the house and a variety of restaurants just a bit further down the road. I enjoyed my stay. The Cozy Cottage is a great place to relax by the beach!
