Pretentious and how

Contre : Not being in the traditional building with the promised large, high ceiling room.
A hotel which believes itself to be a lot better than it really is. The Hotel is pretentious but does not live up to the expectations these pretentions create. The staff were badly trained, condiscending (" if you are cold, there is a thermostat to turn up - and we don't charge for that") and selective in giving attention to customers. The service in the restaurant was poor, our waiter talked all night to the next table and our four courses took 2.5 hours to serve, three of the four courses were cold dishes and the hot dish was cold when it arrived. The 40+ page wine list was so over the top as to be a joke, wish I could have challenged them on one or two items there perported to have available!

un hôtel élégant, un cadre agréable et raffiné, un accueil charmant et très professionnel, et le petit déjeuner un régal pour les papilles, bref tous les ingrédients pour passer un séjour réussi.

Booked this place due to its unique Victorian character. Neighborhood very sketchy… near courthouse and jail. Advertised free breakfast, when entered dining area buffet of only gluten full selection, nothing was gluten free. Breakfast menu offered egg dishes for $25. We checked out and went in search of a diner. Also, our room didn’t have a phone! Do they assume everyone has a cell phone? I think this is a safety issue, especially in case of an emergency.

Thomas, Thank you for sharing your review. I hope my team at check in told you breakfast was complimentary. The morning you were here we had 4 hot entrees with assortment of in housemate pastries, fresh cut fruits, 24 hour oats and yogurt parfait, juice and coffee from a local roaster. The menu does stay 25 and below that line it says complementary for hotel guests. Not everything on our menu is gluten-free but at least one of the entrées and Chef had some gluten-free pastries that he could’ve brought out if he knew that you were gluten-free. It is true we remove the phones over two years ago, and this is only the second complaint that we’ve had. You should have received a welcome letter explaining our complement breakfast and other facts about the hotel, as well as my own personal cell phone, which I will answer. We try very had to take care of guest’s needs. I only wish you spoke to us upon checking out to personally understand and correct what we could.

Wonderful well maintained property. Lots of amenities and extra details. Very comfortable. Wonderful breakfast. Just a great place.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The hotel provides a lot of extras that make the stay much better than average. The historic hotel building has lots of character and class! We highly recommend, and would stay here again.
