The hotel itself was very nice, really big lobby and parking was gated which was helpful. However, the walls in this hotel are extremely thin. I had a very noisy neighbor and ended up having to move my room at 1:30AM after trying to wait out the noise ending. The room they moved me into then had construction right outside the window starting at 6:45am. I got no help from the front desk other than the room move. Overall a fine hotel, but hopefully future travelers have better neighbors than I did!

No red wine in the Palm Bar?? How does that happen in a California hotel?? Unfriendly staff person at the front desk at check in. Certainly not representative of a historical classic hotel. The property was an incredibly interesting historical site. The rooms were great with wonderful linens and great shampoos. Classic property that should be managed better-- it deserves an event manager to bring the property back to life.

Pros: Very close to Old Town Eureka and the waterfront. Very comfortable beds. Lovely historic property.
Cons: Hotel restaurant has closed since covid. Hotel rooms are on the small side.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay. Will absolutely recommend and we will stay there again.
