Publié le 19 mai 2021 sur HotelsMotel style which is convenient. Plenty of car parking spaces. Rooms are very small and quite claustrophobic if you are in couple. Wifi works well. Food and breakfast are ok, they have tried to make an effort but quite average really. Does the job for one night. Not a good value for money

Really lovely hotel ! Lots of parking , room was small but very clean and modern - staff were pleasant and room service menu was extensive- food was very good.
Only downside no bottles of water in the room even though they had tea/coffee making facilities. Also my room had 3 steps going upto to the bedroom area - fine for me but some people wouldn’t want this .
Would 100% stay here again !

The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfy and the heater/aircon was easy to use and efficient
The drain in the sink was smelly.
There was a road between the hotel and the restaurant

Best thing about this place was the food—really good restaurant! Room was nice. We appreciated the nearby park and ride with s bus going into the town center (we didn’t want to drive there). So we were able to see the Cathedral area.

The walls are paper thin, hardly slept at all. The hotel doesn't have ear plugs to purchase. They do have most other things to buy.

As a regular visitor to the Devon Hotel, I have always found the staff helpful and friendly and nothing is ever a problem. The rooms themselves are clean, relatively modern and benefit from all the usual mod cons such as air conditioning, Sky TV etc. The hotel is quirky (not a bad thing) as the layout has many steps, sometimes these are even in the room, I feel like this adds character to the place. The fitness suite is adequate for most with some modern equipment.
Carriages restaurant (connected to the hotel) serves a selection of great quality food and drink at reasonable prices, and there is usually something going on to give the place some atmosphere, also offers both Sky Sports and BT Sports for those wanting to catch their football team in action.
I would have to really search for "negatives", but if I had to, It's a bit of a faff having to remember to ask for an iron and ironing board at reception as these are not in the room as standard, a complimentary bottle of water in the fridge wouldn't go a miss and there are currently some pretty major roadworks going on outside the hotel.
Nonetheless, I would always choose the Devon Hotel over all other hotels in the Exeter area as it is great value for money and almost feels like a second home.
