Gorgeous property and a gorgeous location. We were able to sit in the outdoor hot tub and look at the northern lights, which is truly phenomenal. The hotel is well located near a lot of cool sites and we enjoyed our dinner meal immensely. The breakfast buffet is a great added touch, and the service all over the hotel was wonderful.

The hotel was lovely in general but our room was BOILING hot. We figured out that even after FINALLY locating the heat dial and turning it down, we still had to open the window to get any relief but there was no way to hold the window open only part way without sticking some kind of item in the way. When we mentioned this at check out we were told yes you have to turn the heat all the way down, and turn off the heated floor in the bathroom and perhaps open your window - that would have been nice to know when we checked in!

This is a beautiful spot in literally the middle of nowhere. We ate in the restaurant and the food was OK but very expensive as is all of Iceland. The bar food looked great and was probably a level of expense down

Best Hotel for the South Coast.
Best hotel of the 4 we stayed in during our trip. Stayed for one night in mid-December on a trip along the south coast. We arrived around 6pm on the 15th, the man that checked us in was pleasant and professional, we received an Expedia VIP upgrade to a suite, 2 free drinks and Spa access. Room 202, which has to be the best room in the hotel, had a simply stunning view, brilliantly designed and comfortable room. They even added an extra of a card, cake and treats for my partner's birthday which my partner was so grateful for. I honestly wish I had spent the whole trip here. The jacuzzi in the spa had an almost mystical view across the bay at night, the barman whom we received the drinks from was humourous and broke out a fresh bottle of prosecco for my partner, extra credit for him. The meal in the restaurant was the best we had on the trip served by equally the best waitress we had, Thespina went the extra mile for my partners dietary requirements and was just generally very warm to us both. I've eaten in Michelin Stars with worse staff. Checkout was smooth with the same gentleman that checked us in. All in all 5 stars would return in a heartbeat.

Very good property in very dark area. Highest ceiling hotel I've been. We were on our way to glacier tour the next day morning. Perfect location, just 25 mins away from meetinfg point. They also offer Northern light alarm call service for complimentary. We were able to spot gleamce of aurora in the middle of night. Just sucks we can only stay here for a day due to our schedule. Highly recommend.

It is close to Glacier Bay, Diamond Beach and the Ice Caves. It is a serious hike from Reykjavik on a desolate road so you have to be committed to heading out to this area. If you are Fosshotel Glacier Bay is a fantastic choice. Fabulous food was quite a surprise. Try the tasting menu! The spa area was the only downfall. In a country known for their hot tubs and spa this hotel did not live up to the standards it set for everything else. Still I highly recommend and would absolutely return.
