Publié le 1 déc. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe came on a lark in hopes of seeing northern lights. We discovered an amazing place, with hands down the very best hosts (and humans) you could even imagine. The house is perfect. Laura and Martin are incredibly kind and thoughtful. They took care of everything we could have imagined, called and texted when the lights came out and gave amazing recommendations for things to do in the area. We can’t wait to come back. ❤️

Cosy cabin in a beautiful area

The house is really cosy and warm, clean and quiet, you feel you are in the woods. Laura and Martin were fantastic hosts, they left all the amenities for us to enjoy and relax. They even let us know every time the Aurora's were out. Thank you Laura and Martin!!

Outstanding Experience!!!

The house is full of treasures. It’s perfectly located just outside Fairbanks. It’s quiet, but convenient to everything. We even saw the Northern Lights right from the house. Stay here if you’re in the area.

Almost didn’t think the Northern Lights were going to make an appearance, but at the last minute they did! And wow! What a show they put on for you. So glad you stayed longer & that you got to see them two nights in a row! It was great meeting you both and we hope you can come back again someday!

Laura picked us up at the airport, and dropped us off to get our car and brought our bags to the house so we could enjoy our day in Fairbanks! There was a food “starter” kit there for us when we arrived and she offered us tips on places to go eat, visit and see the Northern Lights! She even offered to wake us if the Northern lights came out! The Gilmore house itself is beautiful clean and has a comfy feeling to it. The views were breathtaking! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is definitely a home away from home! We highly recommend it and will definitely stay there again if we make it back to Fairbanks! Thanks Laura for everything!!

Merritt extended family

Our host was extremely helpful both in planning the trip while we were there. Laura is amazing and we loved the beautiful and well decorated house where we could see the Aurora from our lodging. Strongly recommend it.

Fabulous Fairbanks at the Gilmore House!

Gilmore house is a warm and welcoming home full of historical artifacts. This is definitely a place to visit and stay again. A wonderful location to see the Northern Lights. I can't recommend them highly enough - book it!
