We came to Fairbanks for a week to see the Northern Lights. Because our long flight from Florida arrived after midnight, we decided to spend the first night in a nearby hotel. We wanted a hotel with a shuttle and a free breakfast. LaQuinta checked all the boxes. We got in late, the shuttle came to get us within minutes of my calling, and the breakfast was good. The next morning we went back to the airport to pick up our rental car for the week. I looked at other FAI hotel options and decided this one was the best for our one-night late flight arrival needs. We would definitely recommend this hotel, and we would stay here again.

Very poorly maintained and downright dirty common areas. Room is simple and not worth the daily rate. This place could use a very deep cleaning and modernization project.

Clean, quiet and conveniently located for our needs. Breakfast buffet had all the hot and cold items you could want. Winston was there to service us all who greeted us with a smile and a bright energy to help start our day. Only negative, cleaning staff timing could have been better. We were gone most of the time but are naps probably threw their cleaning schedules off but, even when we asked them to clean the room by 1, when we came in at 2, had to wait to get clean towels and coffee so our rooms were not properly serviced while we were there. Had to get our own coffee, towels, and toilet paper prior to the requested clean.

Good for a short stay.

Overall I would give this about 2.5 out of 5 based on a few things. The hotel has recently been updated and the lobby and common areas are very nice. The rooms have been updated as well but are showing heavy signs of wear already. We booked a family suite which included a kitchenette with a 2 burner stove top. I'm not sure why you'd offer this type of room but have ZERO pots, pans, plates, or even silverware in the room for the guests. The soundproofing between floors is very minimal as well, we could hear the guests above us all the time. The front desk did a good job of trying to keep this to a minimum though.

This property is away from town, which is why we booked it. You definitely need a rental car to get around or you’ll pay a small fortune in uber, Lyft or taxi fees. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was very nice with lots of changing selections each day. Would highly recommend and stay again!

Upon entry to the lobby, you are greeted by taxidermy trophies, a bear and a wolf, they fit the Alaska theme but are a bit off-putting. The pros: - Amazing 24/7 coffee bar with flavored syrups and fixings - Free Airport shuttle (they even hired a cab for us when they didn't have a driver) - They stored our luggage for free before check in and at check out - Helpful staff - pretty good free breakfast (biscuits and gravy, waffle maker, bacon, juices and other usual fare) Cons: - thin walls and rowdy guests seem to be the norm - missing details with cleanliness - tired furniture (think sunken cushions and frayed seams) - a bit on the edge of town (but the airport is visible from the lobby) On the whole, we would stay again but would explore other options.
