I am a falls creek regular for the snow season. This was the first time I tried the elk after seeing it many times and regularly having dinner there. Unfortunately the accomodation is poor. The room we had, apartment 10 seems good when you first arrive, the layout and features are fresh and modern. However functionality not so much. We had a large bed, mind you two singles pushed together with a sheet over it; plonked in the centre of the room, good luck trying to walk around the side of it. The room was dirty and not clean at all. The toilet had “residue” on it, the floor felt gritty and not clean. These things are disappointing when you are paying a premium to stay at a place like the elk how ever these can be omitted from your stay due to the fit out and Qulity. The topper for me to mark the elk 1 star was the noise... why ohh why would you put a room directly under the kitchen when the floor is timber.... 530am the banging begins with staff and guests stomping around for breakfast.... and then dinner... that concludes at 11pm Will I stay at elk again. Never, will I eat at the elk again, most likely not knowing the torture I am putting the people staying at apartment 10 under.

Feedback is incredibly important to us, as guest experience is at the very heart of what we do and I can assure you that we will take all of this information on board. We're a small and caring team with a genuine passion for what we do - but we're far more able to assist our guests when issues are raised with us directly. This room is significantly cheaper than every other room to account for the fact that it is only a 1-bedroom apartment and much smaller than the others. Our booking team are also happy to answer any questions about rooms before you book. We advertise this room to be 33sqm and also feature a floor plan to have a better understanding of the room size. All of our King beds are splittable Kings, allowing us to switch to a twin share to accommodate couples, families or friends. We always put a topper over the King beds, I sincerely apologise if this was missed in your room and we would have happily rectified this if it had of been brought to our attention. I am a disappointed to read that you found the room dirty and not clean at all. I am unsure of what you mean by 'residue' and will be contacting you directly to get more information. Our restaurant opens at 7.30am and the kitchen staff are onsite from 7am. It is concerning you heard noise from 5.30am and will investigate this. Location Good, Daily house keeping a Joke, display pillows thrown onto bed and bed not even made, no clean towels and checking in time advertised at 2pm they Elk advised me 4pm. Room very small they advertise rooms with Kitchen and that's not the case, very disappointed advertising it as 4 star property.

Hi Merrin, Thank you for your review. Firstly we advertise a daily 'light' service of towels and bins, we do not make the beds. We are not a hotel and do not advertise to be. We are apartments/suites. If you want your towels changed you are advised by the laminated instructions in the room to leave them on the bathroom floor. The suites are just that, small rooms, with kitchenette, not a full kitchen. It has a sink, fridge, bins, kettle, microwave, toaster, crockery and cutlery, tea and coffee, the only thing missing is a cooktop oven, but we advertise it is only a kitchenette. Our apartments all have full kitchens, but you stayed in a suite. Once you bought the fact that our check in time was incorrect on Expedia configuration, we changed it and thanked you for bringing it to our attention. However, we did have the room available for you before 2pm anyway.

We had apartment 12. Which located on the outside. Which was perfect for my screaming kids and being away from the noise of everyone else. The rooms are warm and new. Kids loved the nexflix and stan on the tv. Restaurant was fancy but well priced. And Rochelle was amazingly helpful and accommodated everything that we asked for.

We loved the location and the friendliness of the staff. There was nothing we did not like. Great weekend away we will be back next year.

We had a great time at the Elk, being close to all the action at Falls, while still having our own little space. Happy to come back again!

Great place to stay, near to a number of falls creek icons, easy ski access and good restaurant. Lower floor rooms are a bit noisy, but I believe that is due to be rectified next season! Would love to stay again.
