Wonderful home. We took our youth group to the Ark and Creation Museum. The Ark was tricky to get to (don’t take route 22) but otherwise a nice drive. Two rooms had 3 beds. Perfect for what we were looking for. The kids enjoyed the animals on the property

Small Farm In A Small Town
Publié le 29 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe house itself was what we expected except the air conditioning is two window air conditioners. One in one of the small bedrooms and one in the living room. The other bedrooms do not get cold, just cool if you leave the doors open. Not a huge deal as it wasn't extremely hot during our stay. The check-in process was not very clear, you do use the side-door, not the front-door to enter/exit. The animals were cool to look at. They do have large groups that visit regularly, we had a group that showed up quite late on one of the evenings but were gone before we woke up. Our main issue with the rental was the owners, they leave in a building next to the house and they are around in the morning/evenings. Most of the times we talked with them it seemed like we were a nuisance to have renting. The husband came over to talk with us sternly that our kids were bothering one of their other long-term residents that was living in a tent on the property. They were just laughing and being kids around the vicinity and they got upset. We were never given any boundaries or instructions for the farm up until this point. After this happened - the owner were very cold to us. The house and property are a 4.5, but the interaction with the owners really put a damper on our trip.

Future guests –
If you love animals, respect nature and want a great family stay, we would love to have you. If you have feral children that terrorize animals and guests, please pass on this.
Check-in instructions are in the app, messages. Keyless entry is via attached carport where guests park, but you can go around to the front.
AC Context - Guest’s friends “camped” in an RV in front of house - 4 adults/11 children during record heat in the middle of the summer with doors open. That’s hard.
Groups - Asked guests to remove items strewn on one-way road to allow group entry. Group was so quiet he asked if they were a no show. Not sure why this is mentioned.
My husband - absolutely stern! Older boys shunned 27 acres to ride bikes in the grass in a circle around a guest’s tent, rummage through her belongings and look in her window while dressing. This is a campground. The tone here is reminiscent of the chauvinism-bordering-misogyny I forgot still existed until these guests – sheerly abhorrent behavior from grown men with boys following suit.
We’re a working farm, caring for special needs adults and our own children. Watching, entertaining guests’ unattended children for hours and policing animal safety while examining/treating a herd of 70+ goats alone is mentally and physically demanding. We also work until 2am and children would be on our doorstep at 7am. We weren’t rude, but we were exhausted from their neglectful parenting and had a lot to catch up on.

Kentucky spring break getaway
Publié le 25 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a wonderful time relaxing in the comforts of the small town and took some wonderful day trips to see surrounding area. It was great to have three separate rooms for all of us and a kitchen to cook in. We did some exploring on the property and tried fishing in river as well as got to enjoy the animals! Thank you for a wonderful time.

Perfect spot
Publié le 22 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayWe were in Falmouth for a funeral last week and we couldn’t have stayed in a better place. The farm was tranquil and they let our kids feed the animals. It made a sad week more manageable to be honest. They also had a basketball court and playground for the kids. I highly recommend this place.

Staying at the cottage was lovely and peaceful surrounded by the alpacas, goats and chickens. The playground was enjoyed by our children and the rooms were comfortable. I loved the multiple twin beds as the kids struggle to share a double or queen, so there were many fewer arguments. The livingroom was spacious enough for all of us to lounge and the smart TV was enjoyable after a long day of walking. The kitchen was reasonbly stocked, but needed a few more cutlery. Also, a fly swatter would be handy. We loved the scriptural encouragment found around the cottage, and overall, had a lovely stay!

Not Clean or Comfortable
Publié le 2 août 2023 sur HomeAwayStayed with grandkids and husband. House looked clean upon arrival, however I quickly realized the floors were very dirty when the bottoms of my feet turned black, after walking barefoot on the LVP flooring. Kitchen sink leaking and water drips in a pan and has a layer of slime on it. Outdated food left in cabinets and fridge, and we even found several packages of medicine in a cabinet. Don't expect central air, two window units try their best to cool the house, but bedrooms end up hot while other rooms are freezing. I understand the company is trying to employee disabled people, however the owner or caretaker should follow up to make sure things are in order and clean. A sitter traveling with us was planning on staying in the cabin on the property and it had not been cleaned at all when we arrived. I don't expect perfection when I travel using VRBO's and I have stayed in many while riding our RZR in Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia, but I do expect them to be clean and comfortable.

Clean, fun house nestled away.
Publié le 31 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayWas a very nice clean house, kids loved the basketball court, and animals. The chickens just walk around freely they follow you around the little ones loved it. Its just 4 Minutes away from a very nice state park with a pool. We went to ark encounters, Creation museum and another day to an aquatic center. While falmouth is a tiny town its easy to maneuver around, but, not very much there. There is a laundry mat about 5 minutes away which was very convenient! We had a little trouble with the internet but the communication with the host was prompt and it was taken care of immediately! I'd recommend others to stay as it was a very nice experience!
