Horrible Experience by and Indian in India

Publié le 16 déc. 2013 sur Hotels
If I will start making lists then I will have to write lengthy paragraphs. In short, I am an Indian and I know that in 3000 rs. you can get much better options. Their power back up crumbled, rat inside the toilet (WC) which I have a picture of, overcharged and cheated in the restaurant bill which I caught, weird location with no facilities at all. After all, took the half refund and went for an another place. However, the staff is polite, because they know the conditions of their place.

Anugama Resort is situated at Wandoor which is a forested area, now surrounded by a post-Tsunami lake. There are no city rats here but one occassiionally sees mice as there are padi fields and farms all around us. Apart from mice, we also have iguanas, snakes, frogs and a host of other creatures which share the wonderful enivironmment with us.Very rarely, they do intrude into our cottages and seasoned travellers who understand that we are in a natural setting take this in their stead. We do not pretend to be a five star city property with conferencing/health center/business center etc. It would be very advisable for travellers with such expectations to avoid properties such as ours. The Andamans are far away from mainland India and most produce has to be shipped in at high cost. Enlightened mainland Indian guests visit local markets and learn why vegetables cost much more here than in Delhi, for example. Sashimi quality fish is often cheaper than capsicum or cauliflower due to this. We eyeball our prices and we certainly do not cheat our guests.

Basic budget type resort

Simple nice grounds. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Deepak (reception and everything man) is helpful. Was overcharged for a trip - Deepak corrected the situation. Laundry service is basic - washing only. Food is nice. Rooms: basic rooms with windows on all walls. Some rooms with AC, some with fan. All windows have bamboo blinds only with thin strips of bamboo. This lets in a lot of light making the room bright. With sunrise at 5am, one wakes up very early. Also in the night with lights on in the room, anyone on the outside is able to see the people clearly inside the room through the thin bamboo blinds, affording no privacy at all. For women, this is a problem. Change my room 3 times due to things not working. There was electricity problem every night during the stay. Wi-fI slow. Peaceful surroundings.

Thank you very much Mr. Kim for having stayed with us. The bamboo curtains with the thin strips have now been covered with specially sewn fabric, so the problem of too much light and lack of privacy has been solved. We have also installed a large generator and in instances where the main power supply is cut off, we still have electricity throughout the resort. We thank Mr. Kim once again for his feedback which has helped us in improving ourselves.
