A delight nestled in the woods and valley

Some reviewers seemed critical of the water pressure from the spring-fed water system but this didn't bother us much at all. It's a place to go slower, not to be rushing around! Lovely neighbours and beautiful surroundings. Wonderful choice of walks and a good old-school DVD collection for cosy rainy nights in. Highly recommended.

Publié le 25 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe have just had a great 10 night stay in the cottage and loved it's location. So much wildlife around and such a quirky cottage. So close and an easy drive to Newport beach and all the locals were incredibly friendly. We will definitely be back to stay again.

Charming cottage but in a bad state
Publié le 12 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThe cottage is situated on a wonderful location. Hidden in the green valley. It's a peaceful and quiet. Unfortunately, we soon discovered that the cottage is in a bad state. The windows and doors do not open. They are rotten in some places or sealed with tape. Only the front door works well. The supply of cold water is very low. There is not enough water for one person to shower. Let alone four! Due to the low water pressure, the washing machine does not work either. We knew that it would be a basic accommodation, but we did not know that it would be in such a bad state. It was also not really clean. Lots of cobwebs, spiders and dust. Very unfortunate, because the location in the valley is fantastic! The landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. The people are friendly and there are numerous hikes in the near surroundings.

Publié le 19 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayWe booked this lovely cottage because of the setting and because it was a traditional old cottage. We enjoyed our stay but the overall cleanliness was disappointing. Also the cold water pressure was very low so we couldn’t really bath or shower

I will add tips for managing the cold water in the bathroom to the arrival directions. As All Cold water in bathroom comes from a tank in the roof, if the toilet has been flushed the tank needs time to fill up before there is good pressure in the taps.
We have a new housekeeper.

Nice spot, shame about the property
Publié le 1 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayWe were meant to stay for a week, but stayed one night, emailed the landlady at 6.30am to say we were leaving, we found the property unacceptable, eg H&S issues, vermin, cleanliness standards, broken windows. To this end, she refunded part of what we had paid, we contact VRBO customer services, who were excellent in dealing with us, and we got a full refund.

A full refund was given as the client was dissatisfied. Winter draft proofing of the bathroom window was mistaken for it being broken.

Peaceful base for exploring Pembrokeshire
