Our happy place
Publié le 9 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was our second year staying at Autumn mist and it has quickly become our favorite place. Our dog absolutely loves having space to run and water to play in. This area has beautiful views and people. We will continue making this our fall getaway!

Fall Getaway
Publié le 18 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayLoved our stay in Fleetwood! Such a gorgeous cabin and property. We enjoyed the gas fireplace at night with the cooler weather. The only thing that might have made our stay better would be more lighting by the hot tub as the string lights were not working. Otherwise would highly recommend this cabin and would love to stay again in the future!

Good but not great
Publié le 15 août 2024 sur HomeAwayOverall the stay was nice. We enjoy the Boone area and this cabin was close to all the places we enjoy visiting. The cabin was nice with a pool table that we used every day. Access to the stream was not as quick and easy as thought and we never made it down. Privacy at the stream was next to none as a house sits on the other side of the stream. There was dirt on the floors, sticks on the porch, and we saw several big black ants running around inside. All that said with the understanding the cabin is in the woods and certain aspects of the woods find their way into any house. Overall, a good stay, but not a great stay.

We are so glad that overall you enjoyed your Autumn Mist stay! This pet friendly cabin offers guests a cozy, comfortable place to come and enjoy the Boone and West Jefferson area and it is convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway and The New River. The rushing creek is accessed just down the private road where the ground levels out. Housekeeping cleaned the cabin and then we had rain and winds move through prior to your stay. We would have been happy to clean or treat for ants upon your arrival had we known you had issues. We look forward to you coming to stay again! Thank You~ 4SeasonsVacations

Relaxing
Publié le 15 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a very relaxing weekend. Our dog loved the stream! The location is very secluded but close to conveniences. Husband caught 3 trout while fishing one morning.

Autumn Mist is a lovely cabin on the creek in between West Jefferson and Boone. Your feedback is so important to us to ensure that things are up to standard for each guest. We would have liked some contact while you were at the cabin so we knew that you were having issues with ants. We had the property serviced prior to your stay with pest control but sometimes it takes time to be fully effective. We have had the property rented several times and cleaned several times since your stay and no reports of ants. We correctly advertise bedrooms, bed sizes, and amenities with photos and descriptions so people know what to expect prior to booking. I am sorry if you expected something different than a loft bedroom with King bed and bathroom on main level. Most of our guests are very pleased with their stay and I am sorry yours was not one of them. Thank You, 4SeasonsVacations

Disappointed
Publié le 25 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayThere are two railroad ties used as steps down to the walkway and they are not level. There is no handrail and that makes it unsafe when going up or down the steps. The fire pit on the front porch did not work. The gas stove fireplace in the living room did not work. You could not use the remote control to turn the tv on and off. You had to turn it on and off on the tv which was on the mantel and too high for me to reach. The ice maker in the refrigerator did not work. The split unit on the main level heated the kitchen but the living room was cold. There is a space heater for the main bathroom. The bed on the main level made noise every time we moved and was not comfortable. The dryer was missing the knob for selecting the setting for permanent press, towels, and delicates. There were two pool sticks, but only one was usable. The other pool stick had the tip broken off. There wasn’t a path down to the stream from the house. We were very disappointed in the accommodations!

We appreciate your business and stay at Autumn Mist. This cabin is a high volume, well maintained cabin that gets really good feedback/reviews from guests. The photos show the driveway, with steps down to walkway that are two six inch steps that do not require by law a hand rail and those are the only steps to access the cabin. We do not advertise the cabin with an icemaker but we do provide ice in ice trays and a bowl for ice, as well. We give instructions at the cabin for guests regarding the TV on/off system, we are sorry for the inconvenience. As for items not working, you did not call our office/after hours to report anything not working because we are local and would have helped get the gas heater unit working and the firepit working and brought you another pool stick if it was needed. We would have loved to help make your stay better but we were not aware of these items. Thank You, 4 Seasons Vacations

New Family Tradition

In 2020 we got married and unfortunately I lost my only child to a drunk driver,he was 26yo. I have been searching to find this cabin after my son's passing to remember him while we were there. I finally found it and We decided from this year forward to come back year after year in memory of my son and to start a new family tradition. In Your cabin was the first time our kids met in 2018 and we became a family. Everyone loved your beautiful cabin, the creek,the firepit. Everything about it is cozy, private, clean and great costomer services. Sherri is a wonderful manager. Thank you for letting us make your cabin our second home and remembering my son Sherman.
