Great house that needs TLC

However, the property needs maintenance, the interior needs upkeep (light bulbs out, remotes need batteries, Master Bathroom sink remains clogged, interior drawers and cabinets need cleaned but the biggest concern was pest control (too many live roaches!)

It was great
Publié le 29 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe house was nice and well kept. As others have said, parking was a little tight but not bad at all. We enjoyed our stay. House was great and had a lot of nice amenities. Neighborhood was quiet and house was close to everything we wanted to.

significant risk of injury

The 30 wooden steps from the road to the back entrance are loose, splintered and steep. the additional 37 steep concrete steps leading to the entrance to the dock are somewhat uneven and crumbly. The wooden walkway leading onto the dock was unsecured on one side, causing about a 20% list and considerable swaying and bouncing. The dock itself is peeling and rotting. The lake view from the house is hampered by the over grown vines and trees. Two of the 3 upstairs bedroom didn't have working air conditioning, The kitchen was ill equipped having only 3 coffee mugs, 1 serving bowl, no useable baking sheets, no kitchen towels, no pot holders. The garbage was not picked up on a regular basis so we made 5 trips ourselves to the compacter site. There were no sealed garbage bins, provided was a plastic box designed to store outdoor cushions. Garbage cannot sit in there for a week in 95 degree heat no matter if it's in a secured garbage bag. This home is a severe accident waiting to happen to an unsuspecting renter. Needs a vrbo employee to go onsite, I don't believe this property meets your standards.

I’m sorry you had this experience. The dock has been fixed so I do apologize for that. The air conditioning is working upstairs. We received excess messages, almost on the verge of harassment, from these renters needing, requesting, or complaining about something new each day.
She allowed her son and his friends to use the house without permission. When we arrived to balance the hot tub and remove the trash among other things, there were young kids there with drugs and drug paraphernalia out in the open. Beer cans and bottles everywhere. The house was a mess. I would not recommend this renter and will not be renting to this person again.

Peaceful
Publié le 7 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe spent a few relaxing days at the lakehouse. So peaceful. There were deer on the property every day. The lake was fantastic and the water was warm. The house itself is situated on the side of a hill which gradually slopes down to the water. Parking is challenging, but you get used to it after a few times. Yes, it's steep, but not ridiculously steep. Definitely will return.

Fantastic Place!

Nice location

Not as Advertised
Publié le 25 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayUpon arriving we noticed the only parking space is on a steep decline that is way understated from the provided pictures. Because of that there is only room for one car. Next the steps are old and and the weeds and vines are overgrown on them causing hazards. It was raining when we arrived and when i got down to the main level I almost slipped on some slimy stuff on the deck. Once opening the door we hit with an incredible smell of mold and mildew. Very Disgusting. The downstairs bathroom sink did not work at all. The master bedroom sink was totally stopped up. The washing machine did not work. The bridge out to the dock was completely broken and dangerous so we did not get to enjoy the dock. When I used a towel I noticed the same mold and mildew smell on the "clean" towels. Again, disgusting. I called and spoke with the property owner and he told me they would definitely refund our money. We left the next day and found a suitable place to stay nearby. After we left then the property owners told us they would NOT refund any of our money despite have promised to do so. Also i tried to get VRBO involved but they were useless, saying our complaints were minor. Eventually the owners gave us a partial refund but not what we expected. The property itself has potential but is pretty much a nasty pig with lipstick. I would not recommend this property for anyone.

We are sorry you had this experience. All of the appliances and sinks are repaired. The washing machine is/was working . You stated you had a handicapped person with you which is why the dock was tricky. It is not broken or dangerous. The property states it is not handicapped accessible. We offered a pretty hefty refund for towels and stopped up sinks despite a no refund policy within 30 days.
