This review is beyond fabricated, and it is upsetting that this renter went to the lengths she did. The renter and her husband arrived at the property with what was supposed to be two individuals and two dogs. She came with three dogs and asked if another individual could be added to the reservation. The gracious host I am, I did not charge extra and allowed this. Four days after moving the renters into the property, I had a landscaper cut down the coconuts in our yard and offered the renters coconuts. I asked the renters how everything was going and if they needed anything, to which they responded, "We are great, and everything is great." We have a ring camera outside the home that captures this entire encounter. Less than 24 hours after this encounter, the renters told me they were moving out of the property due to a "mold smell" in the property. Four days later after moving in all of a sudden there is apparently a smell of mold. When I went into the property, not only did the property not smell of mold, these renters left it a mess. The scent of the dogs engulfed the entire property; the beds were filled with dog hair, which prompted me to throw out the sheets and towels the dogs had destroyed. Regarding the refrigerator, the temperature was set to the coldest setting, which caused the coils to freeze. Our handyman immediately fixed this. The renter claimed $200.00 worth of food spoiled. When I opened the fridge, there was only salad and milk. When I looked in the garbage cans, no food was present. I kindly asked her to send me a bill/receipt/anything showing she purchased $200.00 worth of groceries, to which she replied, "I don't have anything." I honestly did not care what she showed me as proof; I just needed something to justify $200.00 worth of groceries that spoiled. After trying to reason and come to a resolution with the guests, I was only combated back with insults and threats, one in particular: "If you don't pay me, I'm going to write a bad review." Again, the gracious host I am, I still tried to reason with the guests but could not come to a resolution. In closing, our family and I have rented this property for over ten years, and there has not been a single incidence of mold smell. We had renters in the property for 13 days before Tanya's stay and had no issues; then, after Tanya's stay, we had guests stay in the property for one month with no problems. I presented the video evidence and an array of other evidence to VRBO, and per VRBO, "the renter is able to write anything in their review even though it may be falsified." I hope anyone reading our reviews will see our previous reviews speak for ourselves.
