We're back and better than ever following Hurricane Ian!

Welcome to Dolphin Beach Retreat, your unique place in paradise! This newly remodeled property is located mid-island with the beach access just steps across Estero Boulevard. A quiet relaxing location for that desired getaway, yet just a short walk along the beach is a kiosk for jet-ski rentals, parasailing rides, and even dolphin tours along a 7-mile stretch of white, sugary sand beach.

Super convenient to the supermarket and an upscale bistro on the bay. Trolley service along the boulevard is available to transport you to Times Square, with all of its restaurants, clubs, and night life.

The property has a fantastic lanai porch with ambient evening lighting that leads to the property entrance. The nicely furnished living area has comfy sofa, TV with Roku and YoutubeTV. Dining area finds a table seating 4, and a fully equipped kitchen. Everything is available that you would need to cook daily multi-course dinners, or simply make a pot of coffee in the morning.

There are two beautifully decorated bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, closet, and plenty of dresser space and an ensuite bathroom! The second bedroom has twin beds that can be pushed together to create a King.

Downstairs common area has a washer and dryer. There's a propane grill that is shared. All lower levels have evening ambient lighting and privacy lattice work surrounds this area. You'll also find parking space accommodating 2 vehicles.

While the beach is as inviting as ever, please note that the Fort Myers Beach area is rebounding from Hurricane Ian and not all amenities are available yet. Construction and rebuilding is present on the island and moving fast. The current status of restaurants and other amenities on the island is in a state of change and island amenities may not be available or operating.

There are many restaurants and shops a short drive north across the bridge towards south Fort Myers. The same is true if you drive south towards Bonita Beach. Water activities abound with fishing charters, scuba and snorkel adventures, jet ski rentals, para-sailing, etc. Fort Myers, Bonita Springs and Naples are all modern cities with plenty of shopping, dining and sight seeing to experience.

The South West International Airport in Fort Myers is close by for convenience as well.

No complaints about property itself, it was good for that price. The issue that we had was quickly resolved by management. Kids were not happy with the beach quality, but there are better options available with an hour driving.

Disappointed I paid that amount!
The slider door wouldn’t lock. I reached out and was told how to lock a door. Last day they they sent property manager. Still wouldn’t lock. Screen door closure broke off. Bathroom cabinet door hinge fell off. The patio furniture was out dated and unstable. I am very aware of hurricane Ian and the damage it caused. But after two years they should either lower price or take off market until it’s ready.

Multiple Problems
The property was rented for 20 days. When we arrived had no hot water, door would not lock, air conditioner was not working properly, contractors working in the lower units, nails and screws in the driveway, washer unplugged and water lines shut off because contractors were using the outlet. Went three days without a hot shower and spent one entire day at the property uneasy about leaving the place and our possessions unattended. Had promises of repairmen coming to resolve each problem, but either took days to correct the problem or no resolution at all. Property management company offered a prorated refund or move to another property. Stayed in the original house with promise of air conditioner being repaired in 2 days. Never was fixed. The refund offer was then changed to a small percentage of the total rental in exchange for a 4 star rating. No thank you. We are honest and integrity is more important than a small reimbursement.

No heat
The property is well maintained and the neighborhood is quiet.The biggest problem is there is no heat. Most places in SW Florida have combp a/c and heaters. Here they only had a/c. After complaining, the manager did provide two very small electric heaters and some blankets. This is inadequate when night time temperatures drop lnto the 40s.

Great location
The house was very nice! Considering the damage around that area due to Ian. It was clean, nicely remodeled and the location was perfect. Very close to the beach! Beds are a little bit hard, and we had some leaks on the kitchen, but once I contacted the property manager it was taken care of. I highly recommend!!

Great property with some issues
My family and I checked into the property Friday 4/28. As soon as we got to the property, we took the key out of the lock box and realized the door wasn’t locked. Once inside the property we realized the main sliding glass door to the living room only locks from inside, and the key does not work at all to lock from outside. The only other door was a sliding glass door in the primary bedroom. That door did not lock either. We contacted the property management company right away to tell them of the issue. The property management company emailed back on 4/30 and said their maintenance man would be out the next day which would have been Monday 5/1. We also informed the property manager in email on 4/28 that the WiFi was not working and was told they’d schedule a technician to fix it. The maintenance man didn’t show up 5/1, so we called the office 5/2 and received a recording saying they’re only open Mondays and Thursdays. 5/2 we received another email saying they’re waiting to hear from the owner about the WiFi and that the maintenance man should be there that day. The maintenance man did not showing 5/2. We also emailed the property management 5/1 because we were given 4 bath towels, and 8 washcloths for four people to last 10 days, and the washer/dryer was out of service. We finally received towels and WiFi 5/4, but no maintenance man for the lock. Since we were unable to lock the property, we had to keep all our medications/valuables with us. Very unprofessional management!

We booked fully understanding there may be some interruptions to services (didn’t complain no wifi or tv, no outdoor lights, screens missing) bc of hurricane impacts. What we didn’t expect was the inability to lock door when we left and no power in half the home. Agency was not helpful in their responses, the after hour service no longer under contract with them, supposedly sent maintenance person after several days there and reported lock worked which was impossible as mechanism was completely missing. Videos/photos sent right away to VRBO and no resolution from either them or agency. Will not book with VRBO again nor recommend this property mngmt.

Insufficient rental
We booked on 01/13/2023 and arrived on 02/08/2023. The listing stated that amenities in the town, such as restaurants & beaches, may not be open but stated NOTHING about the rental lacking anything. We arrived to find: 1)the door was unlocked and the key would not lock the door (We could only manually lock from the inside; could NOT LOCK when leaving) 2)half of the facility didn't have electricity; kitchen, dinning, extra bedroom & extra bathroom (we had to use a flashlight to cook in the early am and evening) 3)the HVAC didn't work(no air conditioning & no heat), 4) the kitchen window had no screen another full of holes. Problematic with no hvac 5)there was no washer dryer as stated in the listing. 6)the dishwasher was not attached to the floor or counter and was unusable. 7)some of the new flooring was peeling up creating tripping hazards. We reached out to Coastal Breeze rentals starting 2/8. They had office hours Mondays & Thursdays 9-4, so we left a message then emailed them as well. They said they would "work on getting a contractor out" but none came. We continued to update them but Costal Breeze said there was nothing they could/would do. The after hours maintenance company given did not contract with Costal Breeze any longer. Hurricane Ian hit in Sept. 2022. It should not have been rented after that. It was a mess & we are hoping for some refund. Local amenities can be done without. Standard safety not so. They removed the rental listing thank goodness.

Horrible Management Company
I understand there was a traumatic event that happened in the area we were staying. We knew things wouldn’t be the same. Here is what we thought. If you are advertising a house for rent with amenities than you should make sure they are there and functional prior to allowing people to stay. They had no power in over half the house, no a/c (house was 89 inside), couldn’t open windows because the screens were torn and the sand flies were bad at night. There was no washer that was also advertised. We got an email prior to stay stating the beaches might not be back to normal or businesses but we called the city and spoke with them prior to booking. At no point did they think to reach out to us to tell us about what the property actually had. Not only that they do not answer their phones. Everything was a lie for them. There is a gal that answers the phone two days a weeks and all I got from here is she would have the property manager call me back. I had to take my kids and leave to find another place. VRBO has been horrible at helping get my money back and Costal Breeze has not contacted them back as well. I would not recommend working with the company Costal Breeze. The neighbors that also work with them have said they put in work orders and nothing has come out of them doing that. They were staying there with no power and no air as well. Run, do not work with this company!

When we arrived the place was clean and we expected the storm damage. But we didn’t expect the lack of power in the back bedroom, hall bath, kitchen, except the fridge,(light worked, but it wasn’t cold. A/C or internet did not work. Call and left a message with the management company, they had no emergency contact number. Because of the lack of power A/C and internet we elected not to stay and contacted VRBO to request our money to be refunded. We understand the hurricane damage but advertising with pre hurricane picture and data is miss leading. Will be a great place to stay after the damage is all repaired.

My familys stay
The property was amazing and my family and I really enjoyed it. Everything we needed was a quickly maintained. Property is very clean. The only suggestion we have is a new mattress in the master. It was very uncomfortable to the point my husband and I slept in the kids room. Great property otherwise. A 6 minute walk to my he beach from property steps to sand. We loved it and can’t wait to go back. Would love to stay at this property again (with a comfortable mattress)!

I didn’t actually stay here but I paid for it.
I had to cancel my vacation due to a work mandate since healthcare is being hit so hard right now. I found out 3 days after my 100% refund window expired for this property. I reached out ASAP hoping that an exception would be made for a full refund given the circumstances. The owner and property management did not care; they were happy to keep my money. I understand rules are rules, but given the state of the economy and the shortage of healthcare workers, I felt they may be a little more forgiving. I’m sure this would have been a wonderful stay had I been able to go. I hope whomever rented the week I had to cancel got it for a half price discount considering half was already paid by me.
