Our stay

We enjoyed being a block and a 1/2 away walking distance from the beach. Plenty of chairs and a roll cooler to use. We did not have power to one room - reached out to the owner and she tried to get someone to fix but due to current rebuild situation in the area - was not able to fix while we were there. We made due but was a little disheartening. For our short stay- it was a nice stay.

Quiet residential area and not far from the beach

Things are still getting cleaned up & rebuilt around the island but we had plenty of choices for dining out and site seeing. The condo was clean and the owner was very responsive and helpful. The beds are decent and there were only the bare essentials in the kitchen but I never cooked while there. The listing information mentioned two beach chairs and an umbrella, and I believe a beach wagon as well. The chairs and umbrella were in pretty rough shape and I never saw a wagon. Yes, I would stay there again.

Hi Jeri, Thank you for staying at my beach house and for taking the time to review my property. It has been a work in progress since the hurricane. I just purchased 2 new beach chairs and a new umbrella. The kitchen is equipped with the stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, blender, drip coffee maker, kuerig coffee maker, tea kettle, pots, pans, dinnerware, flatware, stemware, cupware, baking sheets, and cutting boards.

Solid comeback!

We have come to FMB each Labor Day weekend for my daughter's college time at FGCU. We wanted to continue the tradition and support the area post-Ian. This property was in progress of being updated/and repaired but the upstairs where we stayed was completed. It was nicely done and comfortable as well as very reasonably priced. The owner was very communicative--despite being out of town unexpectedly. We would definitely stay again--quick walk to the beach and also quiet location.

Not very happy

The pics were not adequate. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but we should have been given a heads up the property was still under renovation. Half the house didn’t have power. The balcony was not useable. The front bedroom didn’t have any power so the fan didn’t even work and was very hot there and we couldn’t open the windows. I feel there should have been a washer available to us as well. The backyard was unsafe. It would be nice if I could get even a partial refund

Hi Troy, Good Morning! Upon check-in, I spoke to your wife to give you the access codes to the house and to introduce myself. I asked you to please call me if you had ANY questions or concerns during your stay. I am always a phone call away. As for the power situation... IT WAS NOT HALF OF THE HOUSE, it was the 2nd bedroom upstairs. Had you called me to inform me of this it would have been resolved IMMEDIATELY. It was just a tripped breaker. The house is equipped with a Brand New Washer and a Brand New Dryer. You should have seen it under the stairs on thr way to the backyard. The previous guests that stayed there the week before you did gave me a 5-Star review. They realized that $150.00 per night for a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom house that is directly across the street from the BEACH is an amazing deal. You are correct that the upsatirs balcony is not useable at the moment. Thats why its temporarily closed off for safety. The pictures on the website of the interior of the property are 100000% ACCURATE!

We LOVED staying in this house for our family vacation! We will definitely go back once the rebuild is complete! Willy was very attentive to my emails and text messages before, during and after our stay.

BEACH ACCESS

Due to the after effects of the Hurricane and the location was still going through clean up.. The Beach house stood up to its name. A short walk to the beach was nice for a family. The neighbors were from our home town area in NY. Didn't get the free wine, but would rent this place again in the future. Glad that we were able to help support the locals to stay in business.

Never stayed

We arrived around 7pm and found the home to be in disrepair and major damage. We called Vrbo and we’re told that it was canceled in December and I informed them we where already charged both deposit and final payment. I also called the property manager multiple times and left email. We were forced to leave town and find different accommodations. The following day the property owner called and apologized for not getting us check in information. I still need my money back. This is ridiculous.

Hi Mike, This review is false and is being investigated by VRBO. The 2nd floor unit that you rented and is being advertised is NOT in disrepair. All of the interior pictures of the property that are listed online are the current state of the property. You never went inside the property to see the condition of the property. I understand that you were upset and I understand that I failed to provide you with the access information to the property. I flew out of the country to attend my father in laws funeral at a shorts notice. My wifi and cell service were limited so I never received your phone calls or emails. When the messages came in, I immediately called you and whole heartedly apologized and tried to make it up to you. You told me that you had found other accommodations and I agreed to issue you a full refund. The fact that you are saying that you called vrbo and they told you that your reservation was cancelled in December is a lie. You made the reservation in December... I wouldn't have had to "issue you a refund" if your reservation was canceled in December. As soon as I was in front of a computer, I issued you a full refund. This island went through a major hurricane and we are all trying to bounce back and make a living. You need to realize that your reviews affect people's livelihood.
