Avis Wischis Florida Vacation Home - Sunshine Beach in Fort Myers Beach

Place was clean. Mile from the grocery store. 1.5 miles from lots of bars and restaurants. Had chairs and cooler and wagon for the beach here. Beds were comfy. Pool was a nice option even though the places around this house were in rough shape from the recent storms. Lots of vacant lots also. Great spot to stay.

This property and location are great! Easy walk to beach and time square. Things are opening back up and this place is convenient to all. We enjoyed the pool and spa after hot days at the ballpark. Great week and great property.

We stayed here for a girl's birthday trip and loved it! Amenities were awesome and location was perfect. We would recommend to all of our friends/family :)

Located in the heart of everywhere you want to be. We walked downtown most nights, and across the street to the beach during the day. It is a beautiful large home! Washer and dryer on each floor was super convenient.

The home itself is beautiful and very well appointed. It has more than one can use in a short stay! Also, there are amenities offered that are not mentioned - hair blow dryers and beach towels - so no need to pack yours! The stay would have been excellent, except there were things broken that should have been fixed prior to a rental of this stature and price!!! No working ice maker - even with 3 refrigerators. Bottom Freezer door in main kitchen fridge was almost impossible to pull open (even after they sent someone to fix it), elevator did not work upon arrival until Handyman came and fixed, One Pool Torch Light didn't work that resulted in a gas leak half way through our stay (and another intrusion by Gas Company workers), and Under water Pool Lights didn't work. Overall, we had repair people in the house three days repairing things that should have been up-to-par when we arrived. The property managers arranged the repairs but left us to handle the workers. Also, we wanted to rent the Pontoon Boat that is shown in the rental pictures, but it was also not working due to a tear in the bottom. My final suggestion, since no one meets you at check-in, is to provide written instructions on how to work the pool/spa remote control. It is not self-explanatory. Lovely rental but it needs to be kept ship-shape to get 5 Stars!

The house itself is great! Beautiful home and very comfortable. Great location to everything! The pool is way smaller than it looks. Possibly 5’ wide? We did have a problem with a cockroach in the master bath that seemed to come from behind the wall in the pipe however he was way too fast to get. We’ve never dealt with cockroaches but did see they can be common in Florida. We were disappointed that there wasn’t enough paper towels, trash bags or toilet paper. When we asked where extra was we were told we needed to go buy some. This should be something that should be supplied as people having to purchase them will obviously not be packing the remainder. As far as communication, it was disappointing. After a long trip our kids were excited to get into the pool and hot tub. The pool was not heated and the hot tub was empty. Kids were extremely frustrated as were we. We had to wait until the following day to get instructions to utilize it. On Friday we had run to get coffee and came back to a man in the kitchen (where my purse was). When we asked who he was or what he was doing he said he was the maintainer for the pool. We were again frustrated as we were never told someone would be in the house. It was no where in paperwork or anything. Needless to say it was pretty uncomfortable. Also I’m not sure if this is a common Thing but having to pay the utilities after paying for such an expensive stay was a little odd as we would assume that would be included as well. There are quite a few things that are minimal that could be done to enhance a customers stay and encourage a revisit. Because of these things we won’t return to this property. Which is a shame to the owner as it’s a beautiful home!
