Property would benefit if heat pump installed rather than relying on bar heater. It was cold so heating is a must but a heat pump can be easily controlled to provide a comfortable temperature

Lovely well-presented property in a quiet location. Room spacious and very comfortable. Undercover parking directly in front of room. Excellent facilities. Convenient for local restaurants. Would liked to have stayed longer

Great value for an overnight stay. No screens on doors or windows means a stuffy room as biting insects will invade otherwise.

Lake Matheson a short drive away.

Beautiful little town but didn't 'have the best experience at this motel. It works and has what you need but I'd stay somewhere else next time. For my 30 day day trip to New Zealand this was the only hotel I wouldn't stay at again. Hotel is definitely not on the lake but a short 5-10 minute drive away and a short 5 minute walk to the main street on the highway. Neither of which are a big deal. Everything is close in Fox Glacier as it is a very small town.

The Lake Matheson Motel is well located and the arrival experience was great. The staff are really good and provided some great insights in to nearby attractions. The room was clean and adequate.

Very nice staff . Good basic hotel . Super close to lake matheson , fox glacier view, & Minehaha gloworms
