Publié le 1 août 2024 sur HomeAwayI made a mistake on date of check-in. Luckily, no other guests had scheduled the day we arrived. Lilac hastened to "ready" the rooms and allowed us to stay a day earlier than scheduled. The home was clean. Lilac was very friendly and made sure that we felt right at home. We felt badly about our mistake, but she assured us that everything was fine.
Breakfast was great the next morning.

That there was a live in dog was not.
My granddaughter is allergic to dogs.
Host gave choice of Benadryl, or Zerteck so I wouldn’t have to go purchase meds in late eve..
Please describe in immediate description on face page.
Also, Verbo description was “sleeps 8 ppl.
So, I thought I could have up to 8 ppp. Nothing was stated upfront.
We found out later that the additional price for each additional price was $10 per person.
Must be more clear before client commuting pay…
Host and hostess were gracious, accommodating, thoroughly attentive, had extra attention to detail (making comfort and enjoyment foremost), and kind.

Kathi, we really enjoyed hosting and meeting you and your family!
In regards to the comments you made, we need to address them for the sake of future guests. We believe we have one of the longest, most detailed listings that anyone could have, and we are always adding more to make things clear!! And will do so again!! Yet it is still impossible to mention everything on the 'face page' and VRBO does not have a field for "dog in residence". Also, in our experience, we have found that guests with allergy concerns would consider a house that is dog friendly to be an indication of either a dog in residence or most certainly the risk of allergens. Personally, we would never consider staying at a home that is cat friendly, whether the owner disclosed owning a cat or not.
Regarding the comment about additional charges based on group size. When you book, there are reasons that VRBO asks for your group size. One is to make sure the capacity is sufficient and another is because hosts can charge for extra guests above a certain number. This is because there are additional expenses with more people and it is fairer and more appropriate to charge accordingly than to be left with only the option to charge a higher room rate that even a small party must pay. The legal maximum capacity of guests in a home (8) is unrelated to the base number for the room charge (2 per room). If you enter the accurate number of guests when you book, you are given an accurate quote before committing.
And, this WAS "stated upfront". Here is an exact quote from the listing:
"It's important that we know the exact size of your group. We price based on how many are staying in the home."
