Great Location, But Some Disappointments
Publié le 8 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe recently stayed at this lakeside vacation rental, and while the setting was absolutely beautiful, we faced a couple of notable issues that impacted our experience.
First, the positives: the location was stunning! Right by the lake, it offered breathtaking views and plenty of opportunities for swimming and kayaking. The cabin itself was cozy, well-decorated, and generally well-maintained. We enjoyed the spacious living area and the lovely outdoor deck. The owner remodeled but left some of the charm making the cabin modern/rustic. Fully equipped kitchen with almost everything you would need. There is great wifi and a smart tv and plenty of water toys for guests to use.
However, we encountered a couple of significant problems. The hot tub, which we were really looking forward to using, was not usable during our stay. The host messaged us before our arrival that the hot tub was cleaned before our stay and that the water would be cloudy for a day. It was cloudy and almost green during our entire stay. Based on the hosts message, we kept thinking that it would clear up but never did. We did not contact the host because of their earlier message that set the expectation that it would get better.
The other major issue was the well water that was not disclosed in the listing. Unfortunately, it had a strong metallic taste and a very unpleasant smell. The lakeside location and thethe cabin itself were wonderful, the gross hot tub and the well water were dissappointing.

Jeff, we are a family-owned and run cabin and as I shared with you when you brought up the hot tub with a message after I sent checkout instructions we would have sent over maintenance right away but did not know this was an issue. I immediately gave you a refund and then two days after you checked out you asked for 8x more of a refund than I already gave you. Our cleaner takes pictures and we didn’t find the hot tub in the condition you’re describing and again do our very best. The well water is fully disclosed to you in the listing and in messages. It is third party tested and safe which is required for our short term license. Well water cannot be changed as we are a rural location and all we have. I am happy you loved the cabin and location and sorry for your disappointment. Again, I do feel we did our very best with what we knew and we are disappointed you insisted on more money or you’d leave us this type of review.

Amazing Propert
Publié le 26 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy wife and I, I with our dog, just spent four nights at the White Dawn cabin. We had a wonderful stay. We were treated to a very peaceful get away.
Our host, Katie, was extremely helpful with her detailed introductions on the check in process, directions, amenities and local information. She was responded to questions immediately and was overall helpful.
The cabin is incredible. It has obviously been updated from top to bottom. Everything has been done very tastefully. Modern appliances, comfortable furniture and a fully stocked kitchen. We have stayed at many VRBOs. This was probably the cleanest.
Outside is a gorgeous view of the lake. There are deck chairs, chairs on the ground and on the dock. On the deck is a large hot tub and gas grill. It is everything we were looking for.
A final note is regarding accessibility at the property. As someone with balance issues, I really appreciated the ramp to the entrance and the many handholds in the bathroom. This provided added safety and ease of use. I commend Katie for adding these extras to the property.

Perfect for Family Fun!
Publié le 4 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was the perfect spot for our family! Everyone had their own space and place to sleep. Ammenities were the best! Hot tub was great at night watching the stars, we cooked dinner on the grill. My kids enjoyed the paddle board and kayaks but by far the lily pad was the biggest hit!
The location was wonderful and only a few minutes from amazing restaurants and other things to do.
It was very comfortable and relaxing. The water and dock area was great. We made smores around the firepit.
It was simpley perfect with very thoughtout and intentional touches. We will definitely be back!!!

Relaxing 4th of July Weekend

We enjoyed coffee on the dock, kayaking in the lake and the beds were so comfortable! Katie let us know about activities in the area and we were able to take in a fun waterski show in Vergas. Everything went so smoothly throughout the weekend!

Dream escape on the lake
Publié le 25 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was our first time to this house. This place delivers!!!! Exquisite home so beautifully furnished….style all the way! Modern amenities with everything you need, all you have to do is stay and relax. Our teens loved the paddle board, float toys and the hot tub…as did the parents! They thought of all the little details. Some of my favorites were the Dunkin Donuts coffee, cozy common area that felt like the family living room, washer/dryer. Private dock with stairs into the crystal clear water was neat! We brought our boat and used the public access launch with ease. Gas grill was great for grilling at the house. The beds are so comfortable along with amazing air conditioning for those muggy days, you’ll wake up rested. The decor was stunning. I found myself google image searching decor so I could add some of the touches to my own home. The fire pit was great as well. I couldn’t recommend it more. My highest reviews to this place.

Owner very responsive to any questions we had!
