Property not as expected.
Publié le 19 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayProperty was advertised as suitable for 7 people. (Not so). We were party of 4. One downstairs bedroom was suitable for 2 adults. The upstairs bedroom was converted attic space with opening that had no railing or means for support to get into room. I was the only one physically able to climb into space after crawling away from opening. It was unsafe. I don’t understand how it passed code and suspect it did not. Dead dried flowers and clutter was everywhere. Seating in great room was one sofa and a chair. Others had to use dining chairs. Cabin stocked with leftover condiments and old spices. Tripping hazards everywhere such as raised tile under heater and throw rugs. Raised door sills as well. Too many undesirable issues to mention. I would not recommend this place that looks good online but sits right at main highway. Grass was not cut. Owner said because of rain (it did not rain the whole 3 days). Front door lock malfunctioned. This experience makes me want never to book a VRBO again. Apparently they are not well screened.

The homeowners were surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences, and would like to clarify the following details:- We went above and beyond to reach out to you prior to your stay to discuss your concerns, however, you never responded to our many attempts to contact you. - We encourage guests to thoroughly review the listing before booking, to ensure they find the perfect vacation home for their needs. - The listing does clearly state that this cabin can accommodate up to seven guests total and that the property requires stairs that may be difficult for guests with limited mobility, but we’re sorry if this caught you off guard.- We pride ourselves on being transparent and accommodating to all guests and would have been more than happy to walk you through the exact layout of the cabin before you booked. - We use local, professional photographers to make sure that the listing photos correctly reflect the property, so the features you see on the listing are accurately advertised, and guests can decide before booking if the cabin meets their expectations.- We hope that future guests can look past this review. As you can see by our many great 5-star reviews, we are accustomed to providing five-star experiences, and we look forward to this cabin hosting many happy travelers!

Nice little cabin - duck was the best
Publié le 21 août 2023 sur HomeAwayIt was a nice place to stay and had lots of little extras we haven't seen at some other VRBOs. They had everything you could think of. The book with the instructions for things was a little hidden as it was opened to reviews and thought that was all it was until we started flipping through it. One thing we weren't expecting was being right on the road, but it was minimal traffic. They had a duck on site that would follow you around and he was great entertainment for our sons. They had fishing gear available and we were able to catch several fish. It's a little far to Acadia (where we went one day), but is somewhat centrally located if seeing several sites in the area - Belfast and Moosehead railroad, Stone Tree Farm and Cidery, Fort Knox. Overall it was a very peaceful place and we would love to go back.

Beautiful comfortable cabin!

The cabin was immaculate and stocked with anything you would ever need from the bathrooms to the kitchen, along with special little touches everywhere. Host Joanna was so friendly and accommodating and check in was a breeze. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

It was even nicer in person, and we were impressed with all the little touches that the owners clearly thought about, like the grilling and smoking equipment, including cookbooks and seasonings, and most importantly the coffee supplies. The trout pond was so much fun for the kids. There are fishing poles and tackle and nets for guests to use, and the kids could have spent hours catching fish and frogs. It's a great spot for a family with older kids, and we already want to book it again!

Home away from home and more

The pictures on the website do not give it justice.. anyone who has the pleasure to stay will enjoy it as much as we did. Columbus Day Weekend
