I always try to not let emotions get on the way when i write these reviews. Quitely, I'm only giving this hotel a 1 star because Wikipedia doesn't allow for a worst rating. The things i have experienced and lived in this hotel are down to laziness and pure mediocrity and it's totally unacceptable for a hotel charging over 80 dollars(for the room i booked). Needless to say i don't recommend them to anyone. Here is the list: 1.Checkin was super slow beause the reception was closed and the receptionist sleeping when i arrived 2.The water in the room was so red, smelly and unclean that I had to go buy water from outside to brush my teeth 3.The phone in my room was not working and so it was impossible to reach reception to report issues or reach the restaurant to order food 4. Internet either doesn't work or is too slow to be useful when it works. I had to miss important zoom meetings with my colleagues because of this 5. They say they have a gym but in reality the gym is not functional and so it's simply a lie to say they have a gym 6. Horrible breakfast: not enough food varieties and the food is not fresh 7.They got me change room at some point. In the middle of my shower, I saw a baby snake near the bathroom tube. Thanks God, i kept my composure and avoided any potential injury than panicking could have led to 8. The proPerty in general is old and smelly and so it was unsurprising that in the few days I stayed, I didn't meet any other guests around.

First of all, we respect the opinions of everyone, this negative review is very rare compared to many positive appreciative reviews published by many satisfied guests. We wish to reply to the points raised as follows 1. Check in was slow because the flight was delayed and the receptionist had no idea when the only expected guest for that night will arrive,so she fall asleep and we apologize for that. However if Mr. Ousseynou shared with us his flight details we could have picked him up from the sea coach water taxi terminal at Aberdeen free of charge and the receptionist must wait for him until he arrives. 2. The water in the room is supplied by Guma Valley water company which is the only source of water to the entire Freetown city, normally it is used for showers and bathrooms. We provide a large bottle of mineral water upon check in, he could have use it to brush his teeth. If the water is cloudy and smells chlorine, it is the same water running in the pipes of Guma Valley for the entire city.3. We admit that the phone was faulty due to underground fault,and for that reason we changed Mr. OUSSEYNOU ROOM.4. INTERNET had was working good until the Fibre optic was hit by a ship and affected the entire city.5. Gym is functional and it was remodeled in May 2024.The trainer in charge is very popular in the neighborhood. 6. Our free all you can eat buffet breakfast is well known and consist of omelets cooked to choice infront of the guest,eggs,cornflakes, fresh fruits papaya,pineapple, watermelon. Pancakes, hashbrown,mushrooms, three beans vegetables, honey,jam,butter,cheese, croissants, sliced white and brown bread, ham,sausages, baked beans, rich cake, banana bread, fresh brewed coffee, fresh milk, tea,.most ingredients are important from USA from Gordon food, we have an active account with them.7. There is no baby snake as claimed, it is a worm from the adjacent garden. 8. The hotel was 70% occupied and the plaza building where Mr. Ousseynou stayed is very popular and had only one room vacant. 9. The resort was and still very lively and have many loyal guests who frequently stays at the family Kingdom. The records with Expedia can prove it.Trust this explanation will clear the air regarding Mr Ousseynou review and reinstate our rating to three star hotel.

I really appreciate the above and beyond service of the staff at Family Kingdom. My flight on Kenya Airways was delayed but the hotel staff person waited patiently at SeaCoach Aberdeen Bridge to pick me up. Great and friendly service at a reasonable price.

Good location, stayed here 5 years ago and everything is the same. Updrages needed, construction going on so noisy. Shower not draing properly, low water.pressure. biggest issue is hotel need to upgrade

Accommodating and great

Family Kingdom was excellent for me. I had to change my booking because of delayed flight and they accommodated me. They also picked me up at the SeaCoach. Great breakfast. Loved the room on the third floor with a balcony. Room spacious and clean. All my needs plus were met. Pool could have been cleaner but it is rainy season. Nice stay friendly people.
