At this luxury Gulf-front property, which sits right across from Galveston's famous sandy beach, you'll be treated to wonderful facilities that include a wait-staff attended pool with a swim-up bar, a hot tub, cabanas with pool-side dining, and so much more.

Begin each morning with a workout in the resort fitness center, a game of tennis with your loved ones, or a long walk on the beach only 100 yards away. Return to unwind in the comfort of central AC, kick back with a good book on your Gulf-facing balcony, and enjoy the gas grills, lounge chairs, and firepits placed throughout the resort grounds. If you're in the mood for a snack, your kitchenette is equipped with a sink, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster (no stove, oven, or dishwasher).

Your vacation home is located on the sixth floor of the San Luis Resort, a luxe Gulf-front property located right on Galveston's seawall. Beautiful ocean view
Ocean view was great. Details in condo not so great… Shower head is rusty, floor was sticky, towels very thin not plush. Condo building is very “dated” in contrast to the San Luis resort building and surroundings which are updated beautifully and amenities were excellent.

We had a great time. The condo is very small. For a couple it is ok. Nice view, you have access to all of the San Luis Hotel Ammenitites which makes it a great expereince. We did have a problem with the combination lock. We called Vacasa on Sunday and they did assist us right away.

A little issue of trying to remember the code to get into the unit but feel that we were very secure. Not any directions for the tv. Bed was great, need more pillows. The bed appeared to be a type of mattress that inclined but no remote to operate it. Otherwise we greatly enjoyed our stay and would be definitely coming back to this unit if available

The view is great! At checkin we weren’t given the access code prior to our stay. The place smelt like smoke. The place looked unkept. The bedding was a very thin, spotted and no extra blanket or pillows were offered (we had 2). The towel rack was barely hanging on the wall. I think there was once a wall mirror but it was removed without removing the wall hardware. I struggled with the shower to get water flowing. Bring your own coffee, there is none. I highly recommend booking at the hotel. This place needs a renovation and a good cleaning. It is not what I expected booking at a high-end hotel.

Unfortunately, we had some issues with our stay this time. Both towel racks in the bathroom were broken. The shower curtain had mold and rust stains. We could not get hot water in the shower or “kitchen” sink. The mattress does not have a box spring. Their cleanliness was less than what we are used to. There was a leftover chip on the coffee table and some litter under the bed.

Unfortunate issues
The property is nice upon checkin. We had problems getting timely communications from the property manager. We had no hot water and the ac struggled to get below 73 which was not comfortable for sleeping. When trying to communicate the issues to the managemnt company, there were several delays in response and no resolutions (they told us to reset the breaker which did not work for the ac, and the hot water was never resolved). We then asked to have a small extention of use of the wristbands to enjoy the resort pool because of our comfort issues with the room, and after a several hour delay in response, it was clear they did not take time to consider our request (which would have not affected the incoming guests). It is unfortunate that this condo has great potential, however the lack of attention by management company made us decide to never book a condo/home managed by Vacasa again.

Listing Photos are staged. This property is not clean.
The listing photos of this property are staged and you get a much different unit than what is depicted. Example, no comforter on the bed and instead it's a navy blue, moving blanket style thin quilt. The showerhead and curtain rod are rusty. The bath towels are thin/poor quality. The coffee table had food crumbs, hair and sticky rings all over it. The glassware was filthy with fingerprints all over. Utensils included 1 fork, 3 spoons and 5 butter knives. No mattress pad on the bed and the mattress is absolutely disgusting. Hair on the floor. The patio if filthy, Who owns this place? I guess they haven't visited in awhile or really just don't care. Cleaning up after a previous guest is a horrible way start to what should be a very fun vacation. I will never rent a property managed by Vacasa again. Their text and email responses are done via a bot. The actual customer service reps are incapable of helping with anything. I'm certain the email response to this review will be very polite - all thanks to a pre-written form reply done by a marketing firm.

We had issues with cleanliness,(mold on shower curtain and tub, long black hair on floor and sink) the TV didn’t work, Vacasa had to send someone out to fix, bands for access to the pool were incorrect, had to have some dropped off, no coffee or condiments, just coffee filters, little hot water, kitchen sink was slow to drain.

The room had an amazing view of the ocean and the amenities available at the hotel next door were top notch! If a problem arose the management company was very quick to respond. There were a couple of things but nothing that needed urgent attention. The room would really only comfortably house 2 in my opinion but it was perfect for my husband and I. The check in and check out process was easy. We enjoyed being within walking distance to nice restaurants, the luxurious spa and the beautiful pool. The beach is an easy walk across the street. We will definitely return if it’s just the 2 of us in Galveston again.

Anniversary Trip
We love this property and the easy access to the beach and where it is located in Galveston. However, our trip was cut too soon because the building lost power on our first night. We were compansated for our second night but not for first. There are added fees but we didn’t even get 24 hours nor a full 4pm-10am with decent accommodations due to the lack of basic electricity. We did receive prompt messages and option to relocate. We didn’t want to relocate because we wanted to stay at San Luis not the other location.

Overall, I really love the San Luis Resort. I love all of the amenities the resort has to offer. They have a heated pool, cabanas, great food offered pool size, the steakhouse on property is excellent, you're a walk across the street to the beach, great location and nearby so many attractions. Highly recommend.

Cozy Condo
Checkin was great. Thought the unit could use some TLC. The cleanliness needs improvement and bathroom could use a coat of paint. But overall, it's cozy and the amenities of the resort far outweigh the small issues. Overall I give this unit an 8 out 10. If you added a few upscale luxuries like high thread count sheets and towels along with spa bath accessories you would be a 10.
