Most disappointing rental experience to date
Publié le 27 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWhen we arrived at the house, we were very off put by the neighborhood. Definitely not the advertised “beachy feel.” Broken down cars and dilapidated homes. Once entering the home, we were greeted by the smell of cigarette smoke and a mustiness that generally accompanies pets. The back door was falling off the hinges and had no screen. The kitchen was filthy. Items were left in the fridge and freezer, and the stove and drawers were filthy. Dishes were chipped and the drawers contained partially used packages of plastic utensils and fast food condiment packages, not to mention bug droppings. Under the sink was filled with old plastic bags and dirty, crumb-filled pots and pans. We had brought food to cook, and we ended up eating out every meal because the kitchen was so dirty we didn’t feel comfortable using it. So much food when to waste. And so many things were broken: refrigerator door (which I cut my fingers on), toilet paper holder falling off the wall, closet door broken and completely unhinged. So many things for kids to get hurt on. The hottub was unusable (we could not see the bottom of the hottub) upon arrival, and the maintenance man showed up near 11pm to work on it. When we tried to use it the day after it had been cleaned, it was ice cold. There was also an unadvertised pool in the backyard that was not locked up. Having small children, it was incredibly unsafe. Overall, this was our most disappointing rental we’ve ever stayed at, and for the money?!?! Terrible.

Beach stay

The property was a good size and there was even a pool that we did not expect, or use as it wasn’t fully functional.
But most of all it was not very clean, we went through and wiped all the surfaces, the bed we used had dirty sheets, and none of the outdoor furnishings had been cleaned. We purchased and replaced the kitchen and bathroom rugs and the kitchen did not have a good set up of utensils, etc.
We use short-term rentals frequently and unfortunately this one missed the mark.

Not as advertised -Not Clean
Publié le 18 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayWe flew in from California expecting a relaxing family vacation and that was the end of that plan the minute we walked in the door. The 5 day family vacation became a total nightmare. The moment we unlocked the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke was only the beginning. The home was not clean, a large pan of wings were in the stove for god knows how long, there were dead bugs throughout the home, in the cabinets with dishes and cups, the bath towels were filthy and stained, one had a name “Luke” must have cleaned the floors, the A/C didn’t work at all (June it’s hot and humid), many of the windows didn’t open and the screens torn so the mosquito would get in the home, back door had no screen, no essentials in the kitchen so plan on buying or brining your own. The community members were kind, but a lot of the town by the home is boarded up. We ended up needing to leave early and book hotels to stay on because it was not suitable to stay in with kids. The hot tub was good, but the pool was not clean so we couldn’t use it. Bought grocery’s we couldn’t use because hotels don’t have same amenities as a home. What a waste of hard earned money and our only family vacations was ruined! When I wrote to the host to inform her of needing to leave early due to list of concerns, I still have not heard back.

Family Vacation
Publié le 27 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe house was very comfortable and the owner responsive. My family and I had a nice time. The kids loved getting in the hot tub. The bathroom could use a little work. Hard to keep water from leaving the shower but all in all it was nice.

Weekend getaway
Publié le 30 mai 2023 sur HomeAwayThe house was cute. Loved the jacuzzi and golf cart and how close it was to MILLER beach. We did have issues with dirty dishes in the cabinets, so we had had to clean everything before using it. Bathroom needs serious upgrades but overall it was a pleasant stay. Management was very responsive and polite.

Clean and Comfy
Publié le 4 août 2022 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed staying at this property. It was clean, there was plenty of room for all the members of our party. We enjoyed the hot tub and used the grill. If you're coming and you want to grill or cook anything complicated, definitely bring your own specific utensils, corkscrews, grill stuff and cooking basics. There were very basic plates, utensils, pans, salt, pepper and coffee filters but nothing beyond that.

Nice getaway
Publié le 1 août 2022 sur HomeAwayOwner was a little late giving us code for door for check in, but she was extremely apologetic. Place was larger than expected. Distance to Marquette Beach was 5 mins or less. We enjoyed our time there. Overall wonderful experience.

Great place to stay!
Publié le 9 juill. 2022 sur HomeAwayWe had a wonderful time at this rental. We spent a lot of time outside in the backyard. The kids loved the hot tub and golf cart rides. At night we even had a small fire in the fire pit! There was plenty of room and places to sleep for my group of 7. I would definitely stay again!

Wonderful visit to Miller Beach
