Disappointing Service
Publié le 8 juin 2022 sur HotelsThe room was great but it was the service at the restaurant that was rather very disappointing. I mean, the staff sure struggle to understand instructions for the food that is being prepared.
Twice I had ordered butter chicken in boneless and instead got served with bones. The dining staff looked confused and were extremely slow with giving out the food to us.
We had to wait too long to even get a cup of coffee and it was all disappointing. The prices are a bit off the charts, especially a bowl of yoghurt that was around Rs.140/-.
Despite trying hard to explain to the restaurant staff, they often looked puzzled and lost. The service certainly needs to improve and the staff need to be proactive and have a sense of understanding to adapt to different situations.

Hotel Oaks experience.

The house keeping service is pretty normal and you have to be little careful about laundry service and especially the billing for it. In house wifi is having trouble- very slow and poor signal. Overall I was ok ok.

Cheating on bills

Thank you for choosing Oaks Bodhgaya for your accommodation requirements.
Kindly be informed that you was charged service charge not service tax.
Many restaurants and hotels charge service charges for their services and customers have to pay voluntarily .Most of people pay these extra charges when they are happy and satisfied with the service given by restaurants and hotels.
In April 2017 Ministry of Consumer Affairs, food and public distribution has issued guidelines on Fair Trade Practices regarding service charges. Minister of Food and Consumer Affairs, Ram Villas Paswan, made it clear that it is voluntary and not mandatory to pay service charges.
But what if a customer is not happy with the services the it is not mandatory to pay service charge. The amount charged as Service charge is always come with GST on that for we are liable to pay to govt.
Hence this may not be matter of cheating and shouting. As per your requested we had also waived off that charges.
Hope this will make a clear understanding of service charge.
