The Painted Pony Cottage at Leg Up Stables is located on a 300 acre horse farm in the heart of the beautiful Genesee Valley. The cottage offers charming amenities to make your equine inspired stay truly unique including a tack room and a remodeled kitchen. The cottage is perfect for those wishing to travel with their horses or those interested in being immersed in a horse's experience. Our horse farm provides riding lessons all year long. We have facilities to ride inside and outside in all weather conditions. Ask about a guided tour of Leg Up Stables which is home to nearly 80 horses.

The Cottage:
The Painted Pony Cottage at Leg Up Stables is a one-bedroom home that has recently been remodeled and offers a private cozy and comfortable place to stay. The cottage includes a full eat-in kitchen, a comfortable living room, and a bedroom with a queen bed and bunk beds. An air mattress is available for additional sleeping arrangements in the living room. The Cottage has parking for two cars and a horse trailer. We have a fire pit in out expansive lawn and lots of areas to run around.

Perfect weekend getaway
We traveled up from SC for my daughter's college graduation. This was a perfect little piece of heaven. We didn't want to stay in the hustle and bustle of Rochester but didn't want to be too far away. The travel to RIT was straight up the highway. Access to the highway, grocery, town, and things to do was perfect for us. We were blessed to have arrived only a week after one of the horses had her sweet sweet baby. The kids loved exploring the farm. Management was amazing! They took time out of their busy schedule to give us on a tour of the farm. Even in the rain! We got to pet horses and interact with the foal. We didn't feel like we bothered anyone coming and going as we did. We were even blessed to witness the Northern Lights over the farm. We hope to stay again when we can stay longer.

The Painted Pony Cottage was conveniently located near Letchworth State Park and a short drive to Canandaigua Lake and Conesus Lake so it was easy to explore the area. Leg Up Stables is a beautiful property, and we enjoyed our time there. Loved all the horses!

How refreshing
The cottage at the farm was quiet, safe, and had the things one would need for a trip (shower, coffee maker, full kitchen, a/c, TV, wifi). There is plenty of space to walk around and visit with the horses. The owner was on site and was helpful with questions. Super bonus=dog friendly! :) I hope to return because it provided privacy, safety and I could bring my pup. Very peaceful.

Quiet, peaceful, friendly people. We enjoyed all the folks we encountered. It was great to see an active horse farm, riding lessons, bailing hay, horses in pasture, etc. Our dogs were amazed at these large but friendly critters. It's our 'go to' place when we are upstate NY.

Small cottage that is well kept and super clean. The decor was lovely. The farm surrounding is gorgeous and was quiet. Slept four adults and dog comfortably. Would defintley stay again!!

Our stay was very nice. The cabin was cute and comfortable with the amenities listed. I would have liked to have a couple of more towels for ou family of five but we made due. Would definitely stay again and hopefully take that tour and maybe a riding lesson. Loved being able to watch the horses. Good location in a cute town.

A lovely stay + a horse-riding lesson
My older daughter had been asking me for a horse-riding lesson for years. A week ago, I finally had a chance to do that for her. We stayed at the cottage while helping her move to her first-year college dorm in Rochester, NY. The cottage was quiet and peaceful. It had everything we needed. The owner's responses were timely and helpful. We had a lovely stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Painted Pony Cottage. It was quiet and peaceful. The price was great! We didn't have time to explore the property but there were so many activities if we had had time. The kitchen was well stocked for meal prep, but Geneseo was so close if one would rather go out for food!

An amazing trip
The farm is gorgeous. The property is vast and it feels like you are on a wildlife refuge. There are so many horses and you can take a lesson of you like. So much to do in the area, we will have to go back next year to check out more! Great host.

A Perfect Place to Unwind from New York City
Wonderful location for a quiet peaceful holiday. A haven for watching wildlife with stunning views of the stables. Everything you need in the cottage. It is cozy, beautifully furnished, very well kept. Perfect place for nature lovers. We enjoyed our visit to Letchworth State Park (16 minute drive), amazing waterfalls. There is also another great hike near Conesus Lake, called Conesus Lake Inlet. It is heaven for marsh lovers. Leg up Stables is a perfect place for people who enjoy comfort, simplicity and of course nature. Thank you to our wonderful host.

A Horse Lover’s Paraduse!
What a lovely surprise to find such a beautiful, bright and airy cottage! Easy to find and access, helpful hosts, and well stocked cottage. Loved the horse decorations and how comfortable and cozy it was. Great heating system, lots of light, plenty of extra towels/blankets, with gorgeous surroundings and friendly people. Stayed with my daughter, who needed a quiet place to sleep and study during finals week. Wonderful place. Thank you!

Our stay was as expected. Check-in was easy and the accommodations met our expectations. It’s a quiet location within a beautiful setting. The home was well stocked so there was no need to run out and get any necessities. Horses were beautiful and relaxing to look at while walking my dog around the property.
