GOTL
Publié le 15 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was our first time to GOTL and we loved it. The cottage we stayed in was nice and close to downtown. We had 6 adults and 2 small children, we all fit but it was tight. Beds were just ok and they need new pillows. The balcony is awesome that allows nice lake views.

Thank you for the review. We will check the pillows. We agree what dustinguishes the house is its location and awesome lake views! As far as the house being tight for a group eight, the house has three bedrooms and, as such, generally is set up for six guests.

Location is everything

We were able to park our vehicles at the cottage and never really need to use them again until it was time to leave. That's property provided everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay. As stated in the description it is directly across the Street and within walking distance of all the bars and shops on the strip. from the cove

Beautiful place, perfect location
Publié le 2 août 2024 sur HomeAwayBetter than described. Easy check in, spotless, and right on the lake, but just a 30 second walk from the strip. Mid strip, so it's quieter. Some have mentioned parking being an issue. Not at all for us. Plenty of space for our two cars. Some have mentioned clutter outside the entrance. It's not bad. In fact, my Dad took pics of the simple bench so he can build a couple.
The rooms are spacious and the in law suite is especially nice. It has everything you need. Very nice and I'll definitely stay again when visiting the north shore.

OK for last minute trip
Publié le 14 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayFirst time at GOTL. We booked this only a week or so before our stay. The location to the strip was very convenient. It does have a nice lake view from the deck. The condo is stacked. Parking is a challenge on the street. There are no yards on this street. Property is not lake front. The steps down to the lake are rickety , and at the bottom it is just a cement sidewalk. Really not inviting to lounge and not really swimmable. The entrance to the private steps is very weedy and overgrown. Not inviting at all. Some of the other properties have a very inviting lawn down to the lake , manicured with Adirondack chairs to enjoy the lake. This property does not. But - if you aren’t gonna be hanging at your place much the condo is comfortable , clean , has all you need in the kitchen. Owners were helpful. Seems the property may be in the process of getting upgrades. Some unfinished carpentry etc. would I stay here again - maybe. I’d most likely choose something on the end of the strip with more inviting access to the lake. We enjoyed the old timey feel of GOTL .. Eddies is a treat and enjoyed some of the live music night life. If you have dog Ruff Life on the Lake is a good food spot to bring a dog with dog themed food and it was pretty good. Enjoyed the wineries and the state park.

This review rating is a difficult one to respond to; he seemed pleased with the house, expressing it was comfortable, clean, and had a nice lake view. However, he seemed unsatisfied with his choice of location. Our house is the second from the lake. It is advertised as lake view and Bill knew that when he booked.
By “stacked”, we assume he means the main living area being second floor. It is designed that way to optimize lake views from the elevated deck and great room. On the deck are Adirondack chairs, a rocker, and a bistro table set.
Every house on Doctors Dr. has dedicated parking spaces; not always the case in resort towns. Parking should not have been a challenge. Being center-strip, guests have the luxury of walk-ability once parked; “convenient” as Bill expressed.
Several properties share the steps down to the lakefront. They are solid, maintained, safe, and have railings. The lakefront is a 66x10 concrete patio, with steps leading into the water, and grass behind it. Most guests rent here very much because of it! … As far as a property with “inviting lawn down to the lake”, we think Bill is referring to the property next door. While it does have a lawn leading down, it has a waterfront concrete patio the same as ours but does not have direct safe lake access. Also, the accommodations are basic cottages, not a fully equipped home finished in 2021.
We are glad Bill got to appreciate our town and hope he returns. Hopefully, he will find accommodations that meet his desires on a return trip.
