Disappointing + unfriendly service

For a hotel of this standing, service is minimal, even unfriendly (bad experience at breakfast). Breakfast lacked variety and was moderately good. There is an espresso machine, but it doesn't work (no espresso coffee for the whole stay). The hotel is very clean but in need of serious refurbishment.

There was a problem with our Expedia booking and the manager was extremely helpful in resolving the issue. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Checked in late. Female staff member seemd upset and dismissive. Male staff member was friendly. Despite some upgrades to the property, it still seems a bit outdated and needs some more work. Appreciated the upgrade at no cost, but as i arrived late there was no meal option available and no water in the room. Must remember to walk with my bug spray. Mosquitoes were brutal.

Mr. RollinsThanks for review and may I share with y9ou the fact that on same Complimentary VIP upgraded Suite you stay, the day before we had another EXPEDIA consumer stay there with positive comments upon receiving EXPEDIA survey, sorry that it did not meet your likeness, perhaps because as you mention arrive late and needed a little bit of tender. The VIP suite overviews our tropical garden and you are right most likely the last guest left during stay the sliding patio/balcony door open and insects came in.Rest assures that next time if given the opportunity to welcome your back, we will make sure you eventually after checking out give us a better concept and score.Sincerely, Carlos Montenegro C.H.A.General Manager

Unfortunately, I made a mistake and the reservation was rebooked twice. And after so much insistence they refused to refund me, and stuck to their internal cancellation policies, even when they realized it was a mistake and I was there. They could have charged the first night and canceled the other two, it would have been the most understandable and logical thing to do.

Mr. GhisoliI have read your notes and unfortunately when you book with a third party there is not much any hotel can do, our great staff recommend you contact the twenty-four hours help desk (in your case HOTELS .COM) a member of the EXEPEDIA familyEXPEDIA is a very helpful site and you taking the time to contact EXPEDIA desk would have assist you. On site you insisted that the hotel do it for you but, unfortunately you were diplomatically explained by our courteous staff that to correct your error, you can contact (in fact we offer you the help desk number) of EXPEDIA, and they will revert the charges to you on your credit card and things will be fine but, once again you did not want to do that.As you may notice based on our services, courtesy and facilities we are rated very often high, yours so sorry that rate us low due to a mistake done by when you book.We look forward to welcome you back in very near futureSincerely,Carlos Montenegro C.H.A.General Manager
