Both Oda and Emily at reception were welcoming and always quick with a cheery hello and smile.
This was once a lovely lodge, with fireplaces, full kitchens, heated outdoor pool surrounded by lovely trees and shrubs and other wonderful amenities, but has fallen into disrepair/neglect. Having said this though, it has been bought/taken over and renos have begun. The new owners (who also own The Spot in Nanaimo and The Spot at Porpoise Bay in Sechelt, among others) expect the renovations to be completed within the next 6 months or so.
We stayed in a Queen Room with a fridge/cooktop/microwave/coffee machine, etc. There was a non-working fireplace and an outdoor patio.
The bathroom was large, with newer tile on the floor and around the tub/shower, but the cabinets were old and showed it and the twin sinks were chipped and rusting.
It was over-priced for the condition of the room.
The water/beach is several blocks away, down a very, very steep street.
There was an "abandoned" car, surrounded by garbage, sitting in the parking lot at the front of the building. We were told that the police had been contacted and that the car was due to be towed. Seemingly some people were living in it and just left it there. Our question was why hadn't anyone at least picked up the garbage that was on the ground around it?
Anyway, as I mentioned, the lodge is due for major renovations.

Cozy. Stay out of the pool
Publié le 19 sept. 2024 sur HotelsI liked the motel. Cozy is an apt word. Pool was not suitable for swimming in. The water was green & cloudy. lol. There should have been a sign stating to stay out
