The Hotel

The room was clean but old. They needed to do some basic repairs. I'll give the shower 5 stars. Lots of hot water and good pressure.

Room faced the west side, and when I was given a room, it was over 100 degrees outside. The air conditioner was not on for me, and it was 3am before the room cooled off. I booked the room well in advance.

Cockroaches

Spent my daughters birthday weekend in Austin, came to Giddings for a sports event. Bought a box of voodoo donuts for the morning woke up to the box full of cockroaches. It was over $45 of doughnuts for her birthday in the trash.

I showed up with my confirmation number, and ended up leaving to get another hotel room. The lady in the front COULD NOT speak English. She stayed on the phone with someone else for almost an hour trying to figure out how to check me in. On top of that, the place is very nasty. I watched/listened to her try and figure out how to use the computer to give my room until I finally decided it was just too much trouble. I've been traveling on business for over 30 years, and I've neve experienced anything like that in all of those years. I can't imagine what the rooms would have been like if I had actually made it from the nasty front end to a room. For what it's worth, three people behind me watching/waiting walked out when I did. Good luck if you stay at this roach motel.

Dear Joseph, I am sorry for inconvenience. As per our record your reservation was for 27 Aug 2024, and you wanted us to check you in on 26 Aug 2024 which is not possible. I am the Manager, and I already acknowledge you to contact Expedia to change your check in date since you already paid deposit to Expedia. so kindly make your reservation correct in future. Further you said that the place is Nasty, I would like to let you know that you haven't even checked in to our place and just left the place from reception, it is absolutely not justified to declare the place nasty. I respect your 30 years of business travelling experience, but would like to tell you that if you book your reservation from any of the travel website, you need to make sure the arrival and Departure date and if you want to make any amendments that too you have to do with the same website and not to the Hotel. Once again sorry for inconvenience caused.
