What the beach house lacks for in size, is more than made up for by it's beach front location with stunning views. Our 2 evenings were enjoyed on the deck, For us, the combo of watching whales, our bbq dinner, wine & sunshine was perfect.

The Beach House - August 10-17
Publié le 26 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThe Beach House was the perfect place for us to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The island was quiet, the house was perfect. Spent most of our days sitting on the deck enjoying the wildlife that appeared - blue herons, Canada geese, loons, deer, eagles. I was able to crochet and relax my brain! Thank you for a fantastic week!

Breath Taking Views
Publié le 21 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayTruly enjoyed three lovely nights and days at the Beach House on Texada Island. Location is amazing with views west of Vancouver Island. Gillie's beach below the house. Beach House is well equipped with comfy beds and linen, small comfy sitting area and dinning area and a gorgeous deck. Lots of exploring to do around the island. We ventured on to Anderson Bay road - which was an adventure - used all of the SUV 4X4 features. Highly recommend this place.

We absolutely loved having you as our guest and glad you got some off-roading fun too - Anderson Bay Rd is not for the faint of heart! The views and beach below are indeed amazing - and if I dare say, likely the best on the island. Haha. I know you were anticipating the trip leading up to the summer and happy to have communicated prior, I am elated you got to spend some good family time on the island! Looking forward to your photos on google!

Good, but not perfect
Publié le 18 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was our first time on Texada Island! The view from the Beach House was beautiful and the location was excellent. We were staying next door to more family, so it was nice to have a big family trip. The Beach House mostly suited our needs when it came to space.
There were a few issues when it came to the property being ready for us though. They’re in the middle of redoing their deck, so it was halfway completed when we arrived. They bought a new bbq but it wasn’t set up, same with new umbrellas that weren’t set up, and the dishwasher wasn’t emptied. The kitchen also could have been stocked better with more cutlery and better frying pans, etc. None of these were big issues, but they were noticeable.
It should be mentioned that when we openly discussed some of these things being issues for us on the deck (e.g., the dishwasher, the bbq, the umbrellas), we soon received an email from the property owner mentioning those exact issues. There is a Ring camera on the property right next to where we were talking, and we’re fairly certain the owner was listening to our conversation. While she did a great job resolving our issues, this is a major invasion of privacy!
Overall, we had a pleasant stay, and the view was wonderful, but we felt it necessary to point out some of these issues with the property.

Hi Max, Thank you so much for staying with us and sorry your stay was not perfect, only good. We thought the $240 you saved from us not charging you for the extra guests would have helped as we were apologetic about the deck and everything else, but even with four star reviews, we strive to do better!! As we mentioned upon your arrival, we apologize the deck was aesthetically not the most pleasing with old and new boards up because of the weather (its still rainy weather) and our back to back bookings but they were sturdy. And I mentioned our dishwasher was not cleared because it had a late start. However I didnt charge you for the extra guests you had as our apology for not being in the best condition it usually is. I also want to assure you the Ring camera is off on day of arrival of all guests and only turned on between guest stays for privacy and to prevent theft and trespassers. We do mention we have a Ring camera in our description. So, no it wasnt that we were listening in. We were in between seasons when you came but glad we got the bbq set up and umbrella fixed quickly!
We will take into account the other comments. We take our guests' reviews to heart and are always striving to deliver the best experience possible.

Great location - but not in great shape

The space wasn’t maintained like the ratings advertised. The deck was completely covered with pollen, leaves and all the furniture needed cleaning.
The BBq was still in a box not set up. ( annoying as we wanted to Bbq.) The sun umbrella was broken. Everything else was very basic. The property next door the sand dollar looked amazing! Same style cottage. But with all the amenities set up and working when we chatted with the neighbours.

We appreciate your comments and we're sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations. We were dismayed at your rating given our mostly 5 star and a few 4 star reviews in our 8 years, especially since we did communicate prior to excuse the look of the deck and that the rainy weather had not been cooperating with us to find time to repaint it yet. I believe you thanked us for the heads up, understanding that “maintenance is always weather dependent for sure”. Yes, its June and we are still grappling with the rain but that’s BC for you!
We had just cleaned the deck furniture but it rained again before you arrived. You are correct the BBQ was still in the box as we were transitioning to summer and bringing all the summer stuff out and had just bought a new BBQ. The brand new umbrella was lying on the deck but probably missed. We were just informed of the tear of the old umbrella so we had bought a new one promptly. The rain has not helped.
I'm sure its hard to please everyon but this year we have upgraded our bathroom sink, toilet, exhaust fan, couch, brand new deck, umbrella, bbq, more deck furniture and rugs, microwave, sheets and towels, We take our guests' reviews to heart and are always striving to deliver the best experience possible. We take pride and this is our baby, so its like a dagger to our heart to receive your review but we will recover! We thank you for your feedback, it’ll make us work even harder.

Beautiful winter getaway

So dramatically beautiful and it’s so cool to see it unfold in front of your eyes especially when you can hole up in a cozy log cabin and still look outside haha!

Traumhafter Urlaub

Quiet Getaway
Publié le 5 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayHad a great visit to Texada, this was a wonderful cabin that had everything we needed. The bay has large tide movements which meant the kids had a blast exploring and swimming during low tide. Would return!
