We had to clean most surfaces as were grimy with food spills/crumbs and greasy. Utensils, crockery had to be washed eg. Cups had ‘tide’ marks, crumbs on chairs, cotton buds under sofa cushions, bin lid filthy. If the room was properly cleaned we would have rated it higher but as a positive the bed was comfortable.

Good Evening Mike, apologises for my late response. I was sorry to hear of the issues within your room on recent stay, will pass on to our Manager. Our beds receive great reviews, glad you at least had a good sleep. If reception was notified, would have made housekeeping return to do a thorough clean. Regards Nita - Reservations

Bins weren't emptied prior to weekend. Patio door difficult to lock. Water leaking in toilet.

After searching for hotels in Gladstone we chose Highpoint for the pool which looked nice and big on the website, and for onsite restaurant. Upon arrival we went to the pool and found it to be green, filthy dirty full of hoses and unusable. We were very upset as it was extreme heat conditions. We explained we had chosen this hotel because of the advertised pool facility and restaurant. Both of which were not usable. The receptionist was very understanding and agreed that it was unsatisfactory and would be refunded. We then had to search for another hotel and walk to find it. THE HOTEL NOW IS CHARGING US FOR ONE NIGHT STAY! Refusing to refund, ignoring our messages.

The cooktop was very dirty and not cleaned. And the floor and lounge were disgusting. My clothes, feet and socks were all black and stained from walking around on the filthy carpet and sitting on the couch.
